As with anything its not that simple, some kits give 60% of thier rated shot (ie you think 40hp and your getting 28) others give thier rated shot. So do you research, its not a big deal but just know what your getting so you don't go and think your getting a full 100 hp or anything.

To your question the biggest shot I know running is 150hp with no issues, that is real 150hp so its a LOT of nitrous. Rumor has it some people will push to 200hp shot sometime....
 
Hmmm, I used to have a 150hp shot on my car for nearly 10 yrs....at the time the motor made 271 rwhp/308 ftlbs..and with the 150hp shot it made 387rwhp/497 ftlbs!!!

Knowing fully what 150hp of nitrous feels like in a 3400lb car, I find it hard to believe someone could run 200hp of nitrous in a sled that makes 150hp N/A.

...but that's just my opinion...
 
Can't wait to try out my Nitrous Express and NOS kits on my mountain Apex's Using the NX jettting for 40 hp, but according to a Nitrous calculator its more like 60 on the engine thats not the biggest but its safe for pump gas. :Rockon:
 
RX1Larry is running a very large shot at the moment and the kit that we installed on his sled is totally complete. He has a time delayer in there telling the nitrous system when to put out all the HP when the nitrous is being shot, he also controls what percentage of the shot is being injected into the motor then it will progress to a full shot in a certain amount of time (whatever he is set at). He has lots of variables to play with on his sled so he is dialing it in and has a race coming up I believe this weekend. Next year on his sled, if he decides he wants to go faster, we are going to go all the way up to a 200 HP boost. The internals on the motor might have to be changed however. On our Apex, MAY stud the entire motor top to bottom and go to the 200 HP shot this winter. I will keep you all updated.
 
2000srx is this a stock motor you are spraying on and if not whats been done.i have a 60 holtzman kit now but need to go bigger.i would consider changing kits to yours if i can increase hp.have a friend with a turbo that i need to take down :tg: my motor is torn down now for rings so if i should update internals to run more juice now is the time
 
All the kits we are currently running are still stock internals such as pistons, rings, rods, crank. The only thing we have done to these motors are stud them because the stock head studs begin to stretch when you put this much HP into the motor causing you to blow a head gasket. We are running our nitrous sleds all the way up to 300 HP on the gas on the stock engine with the studs in it. The engine we are currently working on is our apex and we are studding the entire engine top to bottom because we are going to be running an even larger shot and try to put out just about 350 HP. We are not sure how everything motor wise is going to hold up yet such as pistons and rods. Larry has been running a large shot for I believe 2 years now and nothing has happened to the motor and everything is stock besides studding the head. Thanks
