BOUNTYHUNTERS NEW RIDE

Ummm, Larry I don't know if your turbo exhaust flange would cause oil to get sucked out the exhaust like you describe. This is on the outlet of the turbo, right? I don't remember running a gasket there at all, the only problem I could see with this would be heat or flames shooting out that could melt or burn things down by not having a nice flat fitting.

But then again, I'm not an expert when it comes to this stuff.

Don I believe it was pulling oil through the oil line that runs to the turbo then into the turbine wheel and out the exhuast. I guess I'll know for sure once I have it together, as the A/F readings should be back to normal. :flag:

BTW...Where do you think the oil is coming from?

Fixed the flange and back together :flag:

Guy my upholstery man did a Super nice job on the fit up of the Fox Shock Covers as they have a foam liner that slides inside and the cover is tapered to support the foam as well as fix the shock perfcectly so nothing moves around but the shock. Of course it the same material as the seat :flag:

Also Powder Coated some hardware and some chain and made a stop for the rear snow flap :flag:

that thing just me putting some power down, you got a few studs broken off

Hey; There is "LIFE AFTER DEATH"

After a couple of years just sitting in the trailer......It's Coming Back.

After everything that went great and then bad I just finally GAVE UP on it.

Well Jeff's persistence of LETS FIX THAT THING is paying off

Here's what the problem was......"A BENT HOSE", Jeff picked up a few Brass Fitting and a couple of hose clamps and hose.....FIXED.

The problem was that the "RETURN" oil line from the turbo back into the valve cover was pinched and "STOPPED" the oil from going back into the motor. That pressure built up and had to go somewhere, so it went into the Exhaust side of the turbo and out the exhaust......Then it went into the turbo intake and down the charge tube filling the intercooler.....Then the motor sucked up all that oil and pretty much fouled the plugs and had ZERO POWER. After many flushing and disassembly of EVERYTHING it's making a COME BACK.

Just need a few things, a couple of tests and reassembling and it will be back on the trails. OFC a NEW LOOK as the GOLD is going and the same BRIGHT YELLOW will replace it to match the other Yellow pieces.

SEE.......YAMAHA's NEVER EVER DIE, they just Rest Like VAMPIRES and Come Back Years Later, This will be a quick turn around as we are both anxious to get running again.

NEED...A PREFILTER, other than trying to get one from CPR anyone seen anything like this?????

We pressurized the turbo and it's got a small air leak on the exhaust side as air is seeping out around that copper/brass ring ......NOT sure if this is a issue or not.

Any of you turbo experts got any feed back???....Thanks

Good find on the oil drain. There's no question that this would be the problem.

Can't say I've ever tried pressurizing one to see if it leaks in that area. My gut says it isn't an issue, and - keep in mind - you're about 1000 degrees away from operating temps right now. Things that might be a slight leak at ambient temps may not be when in operating range.

I'm pretty sure I have a good CRHA for that turbo if you end up needing it.

For the filter - check through the Kimpex catalog (it is online). I've replaced CPR filters before and I'm pretty sure that's where I sourced them . Sorry Larry, it's been a few years!
