I have a 17 Winder that has a rattle or chatter coming from the brake axle area . The only way it goes away is if I lightly apply the brakes . Have had the axle / bearing done in the off season. Have a weggie from BOP installed properly and have even changed the brake pads and changed and bled the brake system . Anyone have a similar issue ? Dealer does not think its an issue at this time . Just super annoying !

I would say it's common. I've seen multiple sleds with same noise. Are you sure it's the brake pads or is it the rotor rattling on splines?
I tried placing a compression spring between the brake pad ears. Conclusion, it takes less pressure than you'd think to force the pistons back into calipers. I think the noise is more the rotor rattling on splines. Lightly touching brake makes all noise stop.

X2, rotor rattling. my shaft was worn where the circlip sits causing excessive play in the rotor. after assembling, I gobbed a bunch of Ultra Copper between the circlip and the rotor, noise all gone.

Did the sealant hold on or get thrown all over the place ? Also I was wondering if I could retro fit a set of brake shims like Yami added to my 2002 Viper to lessen the gap . Damn Yami Cat tech !!!X2, rotor rattling. my shaft was worn where the circlip sits causing excessive play in the rotor. after assembling, I gobbed a bunch of Ultra Copper between the circlip and the rotor, noise all gone.

Did not consider that . Think its possible to shim on either side of brake disk with out it binding ??I would say it's common. I've seen multiple sleds with same noise. Are you sure it's the brake pads or is it the rotor rattling on splines?

My 2017 Winder brake pads make the chatter, they are very easy to move around. My rotor is snug and has no play in it. I have checked all of it and definitely my pads.

When the driveshaft wears the brake rotor gets grooved from the inner bearing race. The rotor needs to be resurfaced and then shimmed. Or put a new brake rotor on it.

Yes, if there is enough play and you have the correct shims. Be sure rotor can still float some. Cannot lock it tight.Did not consider that . Think its possible to shim on either side of brake disk with out it binding ??
Also I've noticed that sleds with high miles, the brake pad steel backing plate wears a groove in the aluminum caliper housing over time causing more freedom for the pads to move around and make noise.

Mine has 13k on it and when I changed pads I noticed groves in the caliper as you stated . Think I may have a couple issues going on at the same time .Yes, if there is enough play and you have the correct shims. Be sure rotor can still float some. Cannot lock it tight.
