Am thinking about setting my MPI Supercharged Apex at 7.5 PSI. It is a stage 1 on a stock motor at sea level. Can I run it safely with 91 or 93 octane?? Thanks Mike

I ride at about 600'-1000 ' of elevation. What octane can I get away with and be safe? Thanks, Mike

My sensor wasn't working right when I first put my S/C on and so I didn't know how much boost I had and I trail rode mine at 12# for 1100 miles on 93 octane. No problems, and boy was it a beast!!. I was at 800 ft elev. Now I have everything working and set my wastegate at 8-9#. Only go back to the 12# when I'm out west at high elev. You will be fine. I got 2500 miles on the sled this season with no problems

I forgot to mention that I have a stage 2 fuel system on it. So that might be some of the reason that I am not having any problems. No problem to keep the A/F reading where they should be.

I ran between 7.5 and 8 psi on 91 pump gas in my 06 apex GT. I did not have any issues and when we pulled the motor down to do the turbo kit it was like new inside. I do recommend though you are not holding it WOT for long distance with that fuel (1000' tops). If you want to run longer at wot put better gas in it. If the IC gets to hot it will start to detonate and your done.

we ran a stage 1 at 11-12lbs with upgrade fuel pump on 92-93 octane at sea level to 1000' with no issues, Just like turbojamie said, watch intercooler temps, engine temp and keep it short and sweet, 1000' race at the most and let her cool down. when she gets up to 180-190 temps.

Add more cooling and you should be fine.

In 2006 I blew a head gasket running pump gaz on a bender stage 2 at 12 psi... in under 1000ft.

I was running in lower boost using the low/hi switch.. but the switch suddenly flipped to high and I ran it for about 1000ft and coolant started to puke

Hurricane's meth is the more cooling then you can run 87 octane if you have to. These motors with boost love meth, really user friendly and dependable.
