At the Toronto Snowmobile Show this October I 'impulse bought' the new carbide sharpener that you run on a drill.
I had a chance to use it and that thing seems to work pretty good.

My Split Rails run two 6" carbides with 60 degree points. After a season the inners and nubbed-off pretty bad. The outers seem to still have a bit of shape to them. In the past I usually push them two seasons cause it's fairly expensive to replace every season.

Tried this thing out and it brought back all 4 edges to crisp point, even the inner carbides that were practically rounded. The round ones took more time but the bit cut away at it.

So the plan is it do this half way through the season and keep the points up and not let them get ground down. I should be able to get 2 solid seasons from a set of carbides now.

Thought I would share.
