I have blue! If you have a 2x, you can swap out the liner and pads for a 3x, the shells are the same. I have a set if interested.I too put a dark shade in mine. I love this helmet only gripe is that i didnt buy a 3xl. Castle has been great to work with too. Currently both of my shields are in for warranty and im getting the new shields and chin curtain. Love the new blue one too! May have to splurge on a 3xl blue slash!

Does castle x have any of there helmets in a quick lock d ring setup instead of the old style? I have gotten so use to the new style of locking and unlocking my bvs over the years I feel like I'm going a step backwards with the castle x d ring

I decided to buy a Castle 950 & bibs from Dave at Power Sports Gear. I called on phone to order because.....well i like to talk. Ordering on-line is so impersonal. He was a pleasure to talk to & now i have a voice to go with the name. He's a sponsor & gave me the TY discount.
I will be testing this helmet against my old BVS2. I have a few people interested because we are interested in getting communicators & it's almost impossible with the BVS2 helmet.

I now have my new Castle EVO-CVX 950 helmet in hand. I am going to compare it to my older BVS2 & an old school plain modular HJC. This will be just weighing & measuring & feel for now, but will ride it back to back on my motorcycle next. The BVS2 is the most used helmet in the game right now so this should be an interesting comparison.
WEIGHT:
Castle =3lbs 15oz or 1786grams
BVS2 =4lbs 8.5oz 2055 "
HJC =4lbs 3.2oz 1905 "
The Castle weighs 9.5 oz less than a BVS2 about 2 D cell batteries.
NOTE: the BVS2 has 2 AA batteries in it & a flashlight adaptor
FIELD of VIEW:
I set up some chairs & boxes in a room to try to gauge this. Using this method & measuring the Castle & BVS2 were very close. If the BVS2 has an electric shield the Castle would have a bigger field of view.
BUT, walking around outside, i still feel as though i could "see more" with the BVS2. This may be due to the angle at which this helmet tilts down. The HJC is old school & i feel like i'm scuba diving. Can't believe we ever used these things.
FEEL:
The Castle is a very nice helmet & being a modular definitely goes on easier because you can spread it out. It actually fits my head perfect, but it's new & the BVS2 is 2006.
The BVS2, because it tilts down, looks as though it will keep the neck warmer.
Castle has speaker pockets & will be better for a communicator.
I believe the Castle will be warmer, except for neck, and will vent air when hot due to vents.
Both the sun visors are Amber & cover the sight of view well. I have seen some that don't cover & really throw your brain for a loop.
The Castle has metal clips on the modular part to make it DOT certified. The BVS2 mouth guard will almost always break off, but the "side burn" extensions where the mouth guard attaches still covers the chin.
I will ride my bike (Yamaha 3 cylinder FJ-09) next chance i get & it should be in the low 40's or even 30's. I will lower the windshield to get the full effect. I will use my snowmobile jacket & balaclava for real results. I will compare back to back & write my findings.
STAY TUNED......unless you don't care, then just stop reading this thread all together
