So apparently all the cats are geared different then he sidewinder? Are the different models of the sidewinders geared different as well.
I was told the 9000 gets 102mph
Thundercat 112mph
Sidewinder 120mph.
If this is the case wouldn't it be hard to keep up with the cats unless your on a lake? I ride a lot of trails and short fields I would think the 112mph would be perfect

In theory yes... But traction is a much bigger concern. If its geared too low and the track is constantly spinning your not gaining anything vs having a taller gear ratio and getting traction.

Ya I agree with you there I have a buddy getting the thundercat so time will tell I think we're going with the same studding too. The 9000 I don't see being able to put that power to the ground with the gearing though

don't see any gearing spec yet from cat but their 8000 is 21/41 like the sw .maybe a mtn. t cat is geared like that but not a flat land sled .

My buddy who is really good friends with all the guys at D&d got the info a lot of small changes between the sleds

looks like for the better for yamaha as it was when cat and yamaha 1st .started together .

Looks like D&d have already found some problems with the cat clutches too
cat knew about it 2 months ago .when i pulled my clutch off my sw it also wasn't on tight .people need to ck.theirs

supposedly cat is geared 24/50 where we are 21/41/....yet to be verified..if the cat has traction it will be a handful

to 100 maybe

Maybe the Cats have more overdrive capability if the clutches work. Dia sure looked bigger to me just looking at them they maybe need the gearing to be close to same.

I got my BTX up in the air and ran the rpm's up for just a little bit and the speedo went to 119?

After studding the track today on one I tightened it up and ran it up to stretch it before final adjustment. Banged the rev limiter pretty quick and it said 135 on the Speedo. obviously that's with out load and slippage in the cvt but it got there....
