2017 Sidewinder LTX-SE. 11750 miles (SOLD)
with you on this. I went 192 with no regard for anything nice V patterns.. 1.325> I see no issue with lengthI wonder what the reason is? I put 1.450 triggers in my rtx-le, I am studied in the center too. I checked for clearance and there is no way that I can see them hitting anywhere. Tons of room even to those vents on the top of the tunnel. They have been studding the procross chassis for years with no issues. I guess time will tell. I think that building or buying a 200+ hp sled and not being able to stud it is absolutley crazy.

Yes, the procross has been studded since it came out in 2012. But not until 2017 did it get the louvers. I truly believe it was a last minute attempt to stop the head pipes from cracking.

Have 144 waiting to install. Wanted to try it without studs for the first ride.
Kinda like that first date....... Hahaha. I'm holding back! Easy, Easy.....
It's as simple as....."Studs ride with studs"........even on there first ride.....now to take a test sample ride with no studs as long as there is a Stud nearby I guess the rules could be bent.......this time!

I put the plastic Doo protectors in 1" deep and only the 2 outside one I left the middle alone I don't see a need to add those I never have on any of my sleds and I wasn't about to start on this sled.

Funny that this post just popped up after a conversation with my dealer today. (Extreme Powersports, Gaylord Michigan). I was calling around looking for the short blue windshield and after hearing that they are discontinued until Yamaha can find a new supplier, I was voicing my displeasure with the accessory choices for this model. Out of nowhere, he mentioned that there is a new tunnel protector coming out, but Yamaha has told them all warranties are voided if a studded sled comes in! Seems drastic to me, but they are telling everyone to NOT stud these unless you are OK with zero warranty. I have no intentions to stud, so I didn't ask any further questions related to this topic. Call them and ask the parts or service rep if you'd like more details.
