The operators manual states,
"The correct level is when the lubricant is at least halfway up in the sight glass."

I read that to mean 1/2 sight glass is the minimum. Spin the track, on the stand, and see how quickly the oil disappears at 1/2 glass.
No harm, only good, will come from running to the top of the sight glass.
Mine is slightly above the sight glass. Checking level requires a 2x4 under the chain case side ski. Can just see the oil line.
At that level, while spinning on the stand, the oil still disappears from the sight glass. But I can just see a little still sloshing around at the bottom.
6500 miles on our previous XF7000/Viper, 4514 & 2500 miles on our ZR's. Knock on wood, no chain case issues so far.

At the dealer today to see what happened, but something let go inside and split the bottom of the case open and also took out the sight glass.
Your tensioner roller wheel came off from screws falling out catastrophic failure. Mine split too, where roller wheel fell and got wedged.

OR your sight glass fell inward and lost oil causing catastrophic failure.

BE SURE YOUR DEALER TACK WELDS THE TWO SCREWS ON NEW ROLLER WHEEL!

Mine also is to the top of the sight glass with no issue. All it is a gear lube bath like a lower unit on a boat motor

Exactly what happened...screws came out from Tension roller. All getting fixed under warranty other than loss of trip. I will tell him about the weld.

425 ml total should put you above the sight glass.
Yes a little! I don't really care about the sight glass "level", i just want it to stay where it belongs...lol. I know a lot of people running 500ml..,,, More than 500ml its leaking a bit from the breather( warning headers....;):D)or a little by the trackshaft seal when really hot that's why i run 425ml in my SW. 22/41. 15W. Whit my previous viperT. 24/50-13w = 400ml

Mobil 1 gear lube to top of sight glass.

Were you in QC this past weekend? Saw some one with graphics like yours. Had just broken chain case. I stopped to help but said he was ok.
