ok we are swapping skids / track and tunnel on this rx-1 .... well the track gets here and has a closed window every 3rd . this is not going to werk with the extros i have ordered .

question is ... can i delete the closed window and have the track clipped where there isnt any ? its brand new 0 miles .

You can use a hole saw to open the closed windows to allow the extro teeth to poke through. You don't need to have a fully clipped track to run extros. But if this track is "brand new", I'd say send it back and get the right one. You'll get better long term results and save yourself a lot of work too. If the track is a used one that you got a killer deal on and fits all the other criteria you were looking for, then you may want to try opening the windows. Your choice-

My preferred 'punch' method is to use sharp wood chisels - and no you don't have to clip it. Just punch it and run it. That's what I would do - plus this way your track will be lighter (not fully clipped).

I ran my RX1 MTN like that and it worked fine.

Just my opinion.

The fully clipped one will help with slider wear also. Something to keep in mind if you have the option to exchange this track.

I installed extros on my RXM so I used a wood chisel (one inch I believe) to punch out the rubber. I also clipped the rest of the track using the lighter clips (the ones with holes) to help with slider wear since I don't ride mountains and often on hard pack.
