Installing stainless 1/4-20 riv nuts. Stripped the threads right off . Can the side panel be removed without removing exhaust pipe? Without ordering a new 1/4. -20 part for the tool I just j. b weld a few of the riv nuts turned out fine.

Another way is to use the bolt and nut method to install the rivnuts. All you need is a high grade same size bolt and nut as the rivnut you are using. I’ve broken a few cheap rivnut tools and this method works like a charm.
