If the bearing fit is on the inner race meaning pressed on you shouldn't have a pressed fit on the outer race or it could destroy the bearingIm not sure I follow you...

I think you need to look at one, to understand it more thoroughly. Its pretty straightforward actually. If the bearing fit is on the inner race meaning pressed on you shouldn't have a pressed fit on the outer race or it could destroy the bearing
If the splines were tight, with stub end to end with crank, then a broken belt would mean entire crank would take the hit, Likely not a good scenario.

Hi guy for those who have ad this problem and put locktite between the outer race and the retainer cap did it move again after a blown belt.
It hapened last year but dealer was not aware of the bearing moving in so new fixed clutch sheave and off you go but after alignement with dave's tool and machining secondary looked good till i give her too much for the belt to old up. Seems the clutch fixed sheave as took another beating.

So how yours holding up with locktite?

Did anyone notice any abnormal noise from the clutch area when the clutch was hitting the 4 bolts? I have not ever blown a belt. 7000kms on the first 8JP and 2500kms on the second 8JP. I tuned the sled to the 225/240/270 this year and installed a XS825. 650kms like this and still no blown belts. I notice a weird rattling sound this past week end. Clutch looks awfully close to water pump

I am thinking that the way the belt has snaped and the sheaves hit together while the motor was spining around 8900 rpm that must be just a coincidence as every thing still run true and i also did not run it for long. Just after the belt snapt i shut it down and ones the new belt was on i did not make more thant 2000 feet to the garage. Why only the one bolt?
just my thinking.

After this I would change belt every 1000 miles, don’t let the belt wear until snap, interesting
