Anyone had any luck getting rid of the rattle at idle permanently ? Seems to be the stub shaft splines making the noise.

mines gone....well with the 3" race pipe at least it is lol

yes ...you can washer or grind the collars and quiet all the pins...but the stub spline is a big part...so are the weights to rollers gap as well..

Lol. Anyone loctite the splines ?

I JB welded my stub shaft, problem solved, but I seem to have developed an odd vibration and now the sled won't start. ;)

I know you're looking for serious answers, but I've done what sj has, bought Anthony's "quiet kit" (same as what sj is saying) and it's still there. Just an inherent characteristic of the engine and clutch. A sidewinder is a rattle snake after all.

You serious about the vibration and starting Beerman ?

I modify my thinking and put a 'Diesel Fuel Only' sticker on the gas cap!
Lived with years of vectors doing it....it gets ignored.

GOD no! Sorry, bad joke. I would NEVER JB Weld or even loctite the stub shaft.

Yeah I was thinking about it but the more I think of it the more I think it' a bad idea.

How about PC7? Lol!!!
Actually, that did seal up the old apex oil tank..even ran it for a while....then put an aftermarket on.

Mine is a tcat. Took STM off it put stock clutch on and it's rattle free.

Possible some clutches just aren' balanced good enough ?

I used loctite 648 on the stub shaft, was quite for a 100 miles. Then rattled again . Boy was it nice with no rattle

Is this a different thread?
'Cuz i'm EXHAUSTED!!!
I've been reading every fix for 2 years now.

1. Ipod
2. Aftermarket muffler
3. Go FASTER

True enough. Will send my STM away to get balanced and see if that fixes it.

maybe some silicone..cushioning effect remains and not permanent
