Bringing this thread back up to to see if anyone has seen up close the new clutch from Cat.

No, I have not seen a new 22 Cat thru here yet. My concern with it just by looks, would be belt slippage down low with it knowing how the Teams and Cat clutches from past history, also the large center post and bearing on it being the same as the old TEAM. I'm also wondering if it is made by the same manufacture or in the same cast method and the same type of aluminum. It looks like its of the same construction as the TEAM, just a different design. Most cast clutches will crack at some point, however it sure seems like the old Yamaha primaries stand up really, really well without the what I'd call typical cracking. What I dont like about the ADAPT is that the tower buttons have been moved close to the center, which its been proven that moving them outward has made clutches over the years more efficient. To me, it looks like the took a step backwards there, but only time will tell. People will need to keep an eye on them over the miles. I doubt anyone has enough miles on yet to know how they will last. I think you will see more button wear now for sure.
Only putting miles on the ADAPT is going to tell the story. If this clutch is not good, you have a choice of a PB80 or TAPP also. PB80 I believe is still prone to breaking the spring cup too, I've seen a few of them break on the Doo 1200's.
I boggles my mind that the factory is not doing a six arm clutch or at least a four arm for the three cylinder sleds. I know ski-doo did for a time, but its wimpy design was crap of course.
What's interesting to note, is that even thought the old RX-1 and Apex primaries rattle, they don't seem to hurt them, or wear them any faster. The old Yamaha primaries are definitely better at holding the power and not wearing out the rollers compared to the new primary that comes on the sidewinder. Old RX-1 primary has it all over the new one in strength and roller wear even though it doesn't look as strong.
