Fan was plugged in, checke the fuse and it was blown. Changed the fuse, the fan jumped and blew the fuse again. I assume the fan is frozen...
Anyone's thoughts?

Unplug the fan and test with 12v leads from a battery charger. I have a 6 amp battery charger with an analog needle that shows amps.
Using a charger in this way will tell you if the fan works separate from the sleds electrical system and wire harness.
If the amps don't spike, And If the fan works fine when tested this way, there may be a short somewhere upstream of the fan or fan relay mounted aft of the secondary clutch above the left footwell.

I dont think that this would cause loss of colant as described the fan is supose to move air when the sled is not moving when you are moving you should have enuff air movement to cool that exchanger. if it is boiling out are you getting a temp light and shuting down? i think you have a leak under presure. do you have access to a coolant presure tester? just warming it up in the garage my not be enough to get it to leak.

FOUND IT!!!! Took it to my Yamaha mechanic, had up in the air and after pulling off the skid plate found a hose clamp with a slight drip. Under high RPM, it was probably really puking out coolant. Any way they have tighten up and are going to run it and see if its taken care of. Also found a short on hot wire to from the ECU to the fan relay which would blow the fuse everytime. Hopefully all check out tomorrow to get me back out riding....

thor452 said:is it the cross over tube in the rear of the sled where it goes thru the tunnel it rubs thru after time on the 121 skid i belive it is the same on the mountain. almost every 07 ish sled i have looked at has it rubbing there and almost cut all the wat thru.
I checked my cross over tube and guess what... It was rubbing and is cut part way through! The rivets that hold the tube in place were loose and had allowed the tube to drop enough to rub. The fix was to replace the rivets. Great tip thor... Love this site!
