sleddheadd said:so this system is 94db what is the limit there in the home state? this should be legal ? correct? and hauck's price is like $1000.00 or something?
this thing is really coming around! hope you can keep dem skis on the ground! and that track above the snow! lol...
The entire Hauck system was 1200. Headers, silencer and plug. The legal db. here in Wisconsin is 88 DB. I'm a bit over. I'm thinking that if I take it easy when I need to, I will be fine. The plug gets installed into one of the end pipes and will quiet it down to just over the limit.
Isn't that Chad next to me? That sucked. There was like 5 of us stuck all at once in that meadow. lol

1CrazySledder - beware of the noise police, at 94 dB your noiselevel is 4 times higher than 88 dB. My turbo sled would be close to your Hauck exhaust so I have to look out for them too
BTW - I would really like to hear that system live, keep us posted on how you sled run with the new system installed.

Well. I did a poll awhile back on what color seat to get. I was able to test both an 08 red striped seat and a solid black one. I went with the solid black. The red looked really well, but was a different shade and would have drove just as nuts as the gray striped one. I know the pic below isn't that good, but you can tell it's a solid black seat.
Also, the other pic is something I am designing. It's like a ROX tread set. I am cutting and tig welding this to fit on the running board perfect and will be tig welded to the running board support on the edges. This hold that side solid. There will be a lip on the tunnel side that gets riveted from inside the tunnel to hold that side solid. Going towards the back, I am going to tip it up, so it will be like a built in foot rest. This will help me when climbing, etc. Plus I like to ride with my feet under me towards the back rather then in the foot well. This is only a small peice to give myself a visual.
The other pic is of my tunnel extension just about done. I've added the mountain rear plastic, muffler cover, tips.
So...what do you think?
By the way...Damn this thread has allot of views......Hey Tom, is their a prize for the most viewed? LMAO....

Gutted can on a sx600r got me a $165.00 fine in Northern Wisconsin. My turbo sled was WAY Louder in my opinion.
Never once took it to Wisc for that reason.

Thanks....
I hear ya. I've ran after market pipes in my sleds for a long time. Knock on wood, not one ticket. I know when to stay out off the gas and when to pin it. I also got the optional plug which really quiets the exhaust down to just a couple DB above the legal limit, at a cost of only 2hp. Which doesn't matter at this point of the game for me.

Nate,
I will. My sled is half tore apart now, so I really can't start it. I have the air box completely removed.
Here is a link to a thread where a post is at that had sound clipss of the pipe. I'm not sure if mine will sound any differant with the Hauck Headers or not.

I can not wait either. I just can't wait till I get my sled completely done. lol
Arron from excell just called. My shocks from my Expert are done, complete with speed spanners installed and re-valved. Those are on the way back, along with the swing arm re-enforcement, and a new DTR system. So I can finally get that darn thing back together and installed...again. lol
I'll have installed pics of the new swing arm supports. They are cool.
Yeah, I had a great time at Hay Days. You should have been there, bud. We'll have to make some plans of some sort for next year.
Glad you like the sled. Wait til you see it in person.
Keep watching. I have another set of plastic. Just thinking on a new design. Flames and red one day and ?????? the next. lol

A few more pics.
While I am waiting on my drivers to come back from Ulmers, I did a few things out of order.
I decided the running board traction wasn't good enough, so below is a picture of what I made. I still have to take the black paint off of the running board support so the plates will look complete.
I also got my shocks back from Arron at Excell. I had him install the quick spanner adjuster on my shocks. These should make life allot easier.
I also bought the Expert X swing arm support. This will help to take the load off of the single bolt that holds the swing arm to to the rails.
I should have this installed soon. I just can't make up my mind what I want to do with the rails, powder coat or leave plain.

Not to much advancement, but hey. Slowly but surely. lol
I did manage to get my extroverts installed and chaincase back together. 144" Crossover track and expert installed. I also changed the tunnel extension a bit. I also got my rear cooler installed but the camera dies on me before I could get a decant shot of it. I wanted to take a few pics of stuff, but that will have to wait until the next update now, I guess. I also have installed my Hauck clutch kit. ( #5 )
Thinking next week, I'll be starting the Supercharger, gauge wiring, L.E.D'S and my Alarm system, and a few other things I have in mind.
Notice the chrome trim on a few things, ( Thanks Rich ) I thought it was a good idea for some added detail, but we'll see how it holds up to the weather. It's the chrome windsheild trim. It'll be in allot more areas. I bought 5 or 6 packages of this stuff.
Notice the billet fuel cap, one of a kind. ( I think, lol )

BTW: Sorry about the mess...lol
