My dealer called me the other day with some tips that he has been getting from the dealers up in Canada along from yamaha.
The main one he told me was that if you turn the key on to start the sled, then turn it off momentarily without letting the instrument cluster power down fully that it will make it extremely difficult to fire.
He also mentioned the battery deal as well. He said that if they are not fully charged form the get go that due to the long battery cables and voltage drop it can kick a code and make the sled not want to start.
Just thought I would throw that info out there.

jp111, Your dealer is a salesman, not a tech guy, if he thinks the length of the battery cables in a sled will cause to much voltage drop. He,s feeding you a bucket of donkey dust.
I can understand the problem, if the battery is low, but the length of cables is really stretching the truth. Might be worth wiring up a battery tender to the battery, and keep it plugged in while the sled is not being used.
I do that with my Apex, and my truck. A topped up battery is a good thing to have.

had this issue tonight. took sled out for 3mi got back in shop, it sat 30min, went to start and just crank and crank. cycle key on, off, on, off. Finally I played with what would be TORS on a real Yamaha and it took off. hope this doesn't happen on trail.

Mine has this issue also when it is warm. Gave me a code also and oil light wouldn't shut off. I cycled key and after a few try's it lit. Getting to not being very fond of this.
