How do I get the dash computer into diagnostic mode on my 09 Nytro?

I was unaware of this feature.

I know this is a old thread but having the cold start issue on a 2007 Phazer, starts no problem at zero C but -10C it just cranks, rpm is 270 did not know that displayed till reading this thread, usually we boost it from the car battery and eventually it starts, Im not the original owner as with the other 2 sleds so update is out of the question and replacing control module unless one shows up cheap is not happening.

this firing the injectors is interesting for sure and worth trying, its the way I start my aircraft in cold priming gas into the manifold but what do other users do in cold weather, either would not be my first choice

@kirkswim as i know he has started the 09 i sold him a few times at -30 c.

using the either ir the firing the injectors, next time its below minus 10C will give it a try

The ECU on the 07 is looking for oil pressure before firing the injectors while cranking. The updated ECU ignores the oil pressure until it starts and runs. I don't have a sled with that engine anymore and can't confirm this but you could try to disconnect the oil pressure sensor and see if that works (or short it, I don't remember if it's a normally open or closed switch) and see if it starts faster. If that works, you could wire in a relay into the circuit that activates while cranking.

thanks for the info and will work on how to wire a relay after the season is ended here, I will also try the priming of the injectors using the #36 37 but also looks like #50 will fire both at the same time.

the second sled finally got the oil changed and chain case changed, I plan tonight to check chain adjustment, I also feel about 2 mm of back and forth play in the secondary clutch on the shaft have to check what it should be.

for interest when the belly plate was removed to access the motor drain plug in its life someone welded a short bolt to the screw to remove instead of the hex wrench, the underside was also filled up by a significant mouse nest, pictures attached

Why...weld...a...bolt? Just replace the bolt. It can also catch on stuff. To get it off if it was stripped, OK, but replace it after.

That actually looks like JB Weld.

its defiantly not JB weld, someone welded it solid either they stripped the hex out or just too tight to turn with the wrench they had at the time, it was late and ended putting it back in, nothing to catch on its up above the frame and the skid plate is covering it. just a surprise finding it like that
