Did you guys see the new Cat Catalyst?

Can't see the big oil companies just turning off the taps and laying down for battery operated vehicles, they are the ones controlling the world, not the green team, there is enough oil in US and Canada to fuel the earth for thousands of years, this is all just window dressing for the governments to look good, the power grid is not even close to handling the extra power it will need to charge all the different types of Vehicles for people to get around, it would take trillions of dollars and 50 years to just get a 1/4 of it done, 2 strokes and 4 strokes will be around for a while yet, just more green friendly so they say

in the Philadelphia shipyard (AKER)) they have and are building ships that run on LNG (liquid natural gas) They are presently building 3 for the west coast to Hawaii trade, all the ships that are running on LNG are container ships, these ships carry the big storage units you see on the highway being pulled by a tractor truck. So they are trying cleaner fuel on ships. They also use LNG container ships on the Florida to Puerto Rico trade route or run as we call it in the business.The problem now for ships is new regulation requiring very slow speeds within 100 miles of the coast to avoid collisions with whales...no kidding...I went to see for 40 years and never hit a whale. Actually, whales are always very visible at sea as when the exhale the do shoot allot of spray into the air, I always thought it was the whales way of letting us see where they are, maybe wishful thinking on my part.

It’s not a matter of IF on EV’s. It’s going to happen. It’s funny as the doom and gloom crowd have every excuse in the world to not except ANY change. And as usual politicians play to BOTH sides and spread many lies. It’s going to happen. Don’t matter what side your on. Technology and advancements are inevitable and the world will move forward no matter. I’m not running out and buying a EV. I do not own one. But I’m not against them either. I’m not against technology. Merry Christmas from the YOOP.

I'm not against them either. But in cold climates the F-150 lightning(as cool as it is), would be useless to me. At -10 celcius the range cuts in half, hook a trailer on, the range cuts in half again. Useless.
I really don't see how an all electric sled will ever work. Sleds get horrible mileage for a reason, because it takes so much power to push them through snow, not to mention a track takes so much power to turn. Push a motorcycle, then go push a sled. Oh wait ,we can't.
These governments hell bent on climate agendas are on a mission to reduce our standard of living, and will accomplish nothing.
In Canada we now pay extra 'carbon' taxes for basic necessities, like keeping our family WARM. All those 'carbon' taxes have a multiplier effect through the economy that add cost at every level, further impoverishing citizens.
When was the last time you ever heard a government say 'we are investing in diesel refining capacity'?
Trump was bang-on when he called out Europe a couple years ago, especially Germany for making themselves dependant on an unstable neighbour for energy, while they 'transitioned to green'. LoooooooL
And yet they learn nothing it seems.
Sorry for the off-topic rant, I know its Christmas.

Yes they were. I misunderstood your point. You were referring to motors "made" by Acat not just used by them.

Back to the catalyst, seems to me there is only two paths for Yamaha to move forward. Release a new Yamaha designed and engineered chassis alongside the catalyst, or add a 4stroke to it right out of the gate. Waiting a year loses even more sales. It doesn’t need to be a messy divorce, but either commit or get out!

Crazy to think the pace of development as slowed so much. 03,06,09,12,14,17 all huge developments. Now it’s practically 2023 and we don’t know what’s up over at Yamaha. Prior 7 yeah chunks of times would’ve included several new motors and a couple chassis as well!

The other way is 4s engines of course and only BRP has a competitive offering currently. If a sled manufacturer wants to stay in the game and stay profitable, partnering with yamaha is a proven solution. It works for Toyota, Ford, and Volvo as OEM partners and they recently announced development partnerships with Mazda (sky active is already good), Kawasaki, and Subaru to share development of alternative fuel engines.

Yamaha is invested in electric sleds but only for utility...they know the electric market is a sliding nightmare... if you have not noticed they are all on the race to beat the 998!!!best part of it is yamaha will just wait till they get close to them then BAM!!!let's turn it up to 240hp on the same muffler at no cost and force them to the 4 stroke market to compete....DONT FOOL YOURSELF GUYS ALL CHASSIS HAVE BEEN MASTERED AND THERE ALL GOOD!!!! LOWERING the center of gravity like on the SRX is what's missing..with all the chassis mastered it's all in the engine now..let the engine wars begin and yamaha will always come out on top
