Why not? That is how it is I believe. It's more of a retainer like some piston wrist pins have. Nothing wrong with it.

It's fine. It's called a spiral retaining ring.
Kind of like two wraps of a Slinky. Bugger to get in a piston but they hold very well. It's a good design.

Took mine apart this weekend and yes...the bearings were dry. All repacked and ready for trail.

Very cool tool!

I need one!

It works great for non greaseable ball joints. Father-in law had a 2004 Ram 1500 that was creaking and squeaking when he steered, kind of like an old Explorer. The joints were not loose, just dry so I gave it some grease inside the boot (I know it's #*$&@ backwards) but apparently it worked it's way up into the joint. At any rate it shut the thing up and I didn't have to work on the thing ;)

That's the grease needle I used to do mine, but I took the seal off anyway. It's really easy if you have a dental tool pick.
Mine bearing wasn't dry but I cleaned it and re greased anyway. Probably because it only has 598 for miles.

hey guys doing track install soon how are you removing the clips and installing them details please I have regular snapring pliers but nothing special should I have something?

I have a tool basicly a snapring pliers with flat serrated jaws. Before I got it I did use a normal snapring pliers.
