Drive/jackshaft bearing repacking

Now that's a tool everyone could use. Nice! Hint for any vendors out there.
 
It doesn't hurt to clean the bearing out but sealed bearings are not packed with grease check a new one out one of the biggest causes of bearing failure (on a sealed type) is over greasing as the balls can't roll they skid instead.

Just a bit of useless trivia but all ball bearings skid after being turned fast enough. That's the reason your car does not have them on the crankshaft, the small gain at low speeds negates the extra cost.
 
The Suzuki GS series of engines have ball bearing cranks and are bulletproof......
 
Tore mine apart yesterday to check bearing and repack and found the bearing snap ring is cracked.
598 miles on it.

Yep guess after me looking at parts diagram that is the snap ring for the bearing.
