I was removing my clutch to disassemble and clean and found my PTO outer bearing wiped out. I have a little north of 27,000 miles on my sled so I'm not complaining, just letting everyone know to check this bearing periodically. It comes as an assembly, part number 8GL-11406-00-00 ($460.99 list). There is an inner bearing in engine lubed by engine oil but this bearing is sealed. The outer bearing has a hard metal outer so I am going to figure out if this bearing can be greased from the outside like they do for the Ski Doo clutch side.

I have replaced these on other Nytros... not sure why some fail with low miles but I have seen them up and over 10000 miles and still running strong...

Well you really got your moneys worth out of that bearing at 27000 miles.

You can just buy that bearing 93306-30721-00 for $29.98 from procaliber if its a 2012 or newer Nytro.

How does that come off the engine once the 4 bolts are removed?
Do you require a puller of some kind?
Funny, I never paid attention to that part thinking that bearing would be lubricated from the inside of the engine.

There are no special tools needed. I used a lady slipper to get the assembly out. I am going to see if I can change the bearing in my old one, not sure if you can on mine. It is a 2009.

i was curious so I grabbed one from an 05-09 vector. I was able to press it apart. The nytro will have the extra gear on it for crank position sensor. not sure if that gear gets in the way if you tried to press it apart. Don't have any nytro ones laying around to look at.
I have several of the 05-09 vector assemblies here. If you get yours apart maybe measure it. I can see if its the same as the vector. Know I have one from a 300 mile engine.

id be interesting in replacing mine as well in the off season. maybe replace it with a 2012+ version if needed then the bearing can be replaced later instead of the whole unit?

I have a new one coming, and I am going to try to get this one apart to replace the bearing. We'll see how it goes.

Replace mine on my 2008 Nytro with just a press and some tools that I created from aluminum stock to help me get things pressed apart and pressed back together. Take your time have a buddy help you and you can do it in an hour and a few beers.

forgot to mention that I did not replace the whole $300+ assembly. I just used a 2012 bearing and took my time with a press and some tools I made from aluminum to help press it apart and back together again.
Don't buy them from a dealer, get the EOM bearing from www.procaliber.com for half the cost

So I have been wanting to pull my primary off and grease mine. I assume the seal can be pulled and bearing greased similar to the secondary and speedo bearings? Also where can I get a good primary puller? Have seen lots of horror stories about cheap ones bending or getting stuck in the clutch. Can't tell which ones are good online. Thanks.
