OK Im not much of a tuner on these things yet, and not necessarily blaming anything other than conditions and traction for poor running. But just thought I would ask some of you more experience folks what I should be looking at and where I should be looking.

Its possible it was running as good as it will in the conditions we had. Was very windy and had a helluva time staying in the groove and track had a few bumps in it and was spinning. I have trail studs with 2800 miles and on the start line they were about worthless.

I made three runs, best was 92.9 next was 92.8 and I had to abort a run got squirrely on the top end.

I have Apex, PCIII, Ignition module, ulmer clutching, and excell exhaust.

In stock form with his clutching I was going 94.5 mph.

However again I think the conditions (wind/traction) had everything to do with it. I figure I would start looking at a few things to ensure its all good.

Unfortunatly I dont have the most important data you will all need. Because of really fighting to go straight and stay under control I couldnt look at the tach.

I live on a long lake and we radar all the time. Everything from 1000 ft to 2 miles. Every day speeds are different. Too many variables change from one day to another.

Yeah thats what I expected fourload.

Just looking for some reference points as far as RPMs and what not.

Im not blaming any components or anything else. Just looking for some tips on things to check to ensure everything is running where it needs to be - if that makes sense.

I have drag raced cars my entire life and realize conditions are everything. Just want to be sure Im not missing anything.

Mine comes out of the hole at 10600 and rises to 10800 -900 by 500 ft or so. It seems to give me the best speeds at 10800 to 11,000 rpm on a long run. If I load the tips of the supertip weights too much my rpm falls below 10500 and my speed falls off 3 mph or more. Also tuck that body behind the windshield. I gain a couple mph crouching behind the windshield as opposed to sitting up.

It does sound a little slow. I ran 96.9 in 660 last winter. this was trail studs but good conditions except for the starting line. I do have a few engine mods though.

Im wondering if Im not pulling the RPMs I need. I realize thats a HUGE thing.

But coming home on a very long trail, which was hard packed with a little light snow on top I was only pulling 10,400 but dont have a reading from the ice and know the snow can pull it down some.

I have the original belt on it still - maybe thats causing some issues.

Again speculating as I dont have the RPMs from the ice runs.

I assume Allen told you to run a certain rpm with the PC3 stuff. What was it 10,800-11,000? What do you other guys run with the pc3?

I have Contacted Allen again. He set up the clutch originally. I will see what he reminds me to run it at and let you guys know here.

although as stated that 10,400 was on snow, dont know how much that is pulling it down.

it will run higher on the ice. If you were squirley at the end of the track on one run it is probably just a traction issue and maybe some fine tuning on the clutches. Jason

It was all over the place every run...... however one was worse than others. Didnt need to kill myself to get a MPH reading - LOL

I think this week I will tinker with it, go over a few things and just ensure everything is in working order.

One area I thought of with this new suspension in it, I want to check the rail tips to make sure they arent hitting at an odd angle. Just a thought.

What gear are you running? If you do not anything more than 2000ft, then run the 22/38 gearing... That will help..

No never anything over that long... stock 07 RTX gearing.

Allen wants it 10800-11k at top end.

Its possible the IQ may be robbing some RPMs. Will know more in the next week. Im going to tinker with it in the garage, go through some things, check track alignment, bearings etc.

Ya, who knows now, that's a big varibale to be throwing into the mix....
