Well last night a shawns house, where we have been rebuilding this wreck,we hit the correct mix of tweeks to make this bad boy rock. Shawn drilled a new hole in the MTX drop down bracket,1" higher up just under the support, and it was the perfect solution. As sled now sits 2" lower than it did as an MTX,close now to stock LTX,man what a difference a one inch hole makes,we left the front hole along, sense we would have had to drill out one of the pierced rivets, and been to close to drivers with rail tips. For some reason, just dropping the tunnel down over the skid this far, tightened up the track, must be just the geometry difference, whatever it is,we like it. So we set the tension of track with 20lb weight,to 1.25" a little tighter than most woud set it to,but sense it was racheting so bad,we wanted to start there. It was a good choice, next removed the plastic blocks completely, and left rod in place,i have 8.4 dia TD 4 wheel kit,so mine will hit wheels if rod is not in place. Took 3 grams out of STM tips,or removed one tungsten from tip,and replaced with 4 washers, left straight 38 and red spring in its pos. in secondary, put worn 8JP back on,well when I say worn,it only lost .010 thou from width compared to brand new belt. Ok time to give it a spin,my driver comes back in,#*$&@ this thing rips now,no rachet, and pulls skis two feet now while hitting this small bump that would of only before given him 2" of lift. Ok now for the good news,he called me this morning at 9am,and could not stop talking great things about how he now loves it,and before hated it. Man its now a hand full when you hammer on it,from a roll,or dead stop,it now from a dig, carries skis 2" for a long ways,no rachet at all,and runs 9100 pulling so hard,he said its scary, now he said we are carriening so much speed into each corner you have to be on your game. And the rpms may even climb up more,if he could hold it open longer. Sense the rpms now want to be between 9150-9400 with this tune, well it may be scary now on such hard conditions as they had this morning,he said they had to pass the groomer as they are still gearing for this weekend. Well if he makes it home safely tonight,i assume the stories will be better, than what I heard early this morning. At any rate he feels now,we will be able to keep that MTX tunnel,as it seems to work well now.

good news will you be back in the saddle this season at all?

Let me know when your finished, I'll drop mine off! Lol!

Truly great news......

All the powers that be,say NO,although I want to,not sure if we wil still have snow in 3-4 weeks any place left worth a 6 hr drive in Maine.

That's awesome Pete now tell your buddy the fun is over and save your sled for next year!
Ha Ha ya you are right, but tonight when he gets home,he is doing the oil change and filter, and depending on how fast it ran,may change the spring tension on the helix.

straight 38 ;)!
yes sir, allen sent me that and a red spring, but because the spring tang was clocked different,it was suppose to be set at 0+1 but my notes said o+3,so that may be some of the reason it was not opening up all the ways on the helix ramps.

hmm, wonder if the rear height locate is the problem with the other 137" winders with transfer issues.

Well,i guess I better exsplain in detail, why mine was not great before, and now much better. This does not relate to any stock 137 or 129,reason mine was wrong, because it is not the stock tunnel my sled came with. I crashed my sled in December, and even now we still don't have any stock parts yet,for any LTX-LE or RTX-LE,so I really did want to ride it this year before the snow was gone. So I started my campaign of as carefully as I could, trying to put togeather all the parts I needed to fix my wreck. Well in the beginning all there was in the fish, was the MTX-SE 162 mountain sld. So I carefully dicected it,on babbitts and port yamahas fish,to try and gather all my parts needed to reassemble wreck, all was good, except,i would have to make the 162 tunnel work, and now we finally have,so that is the only reason,my rear tail was so high, and we drilled a new hole ro reposision the skid, and got lucky,it now rails, and transfers, and don't rachet any more. But I did remove the rear transfer blocks completely, but left the bar in place.

Can you post a pic of your sled now>?

I know we don't have exact set up. But don't be afraid to try 3/3 on that secondary wrap. With the straight 38

Great news! Sounds like you could even add a little more weight and it may pull harder...if that's possible. Lol.

Ya,i might try the stock spring wrapped at 6&1 or 3&3 next winter, unless I get shawn to give it a try.
