I have about 250 miles so far on my LTX SE and so far I'm very happy. I just installed a Ulmers clutch kit and upgraded rollers before this ride. Found some groomed trail and for the most part the trail was tight and whindy and besides the tuner skis the sled handles very well. I'm running snowtrackers but still my next investment is a set of Curves. I put my limiter straps all the way loose loosen front shocks and tightened up my center shock and it greatly reduced steering effort. I may need to tighten up one hole to get a little more ski pressure but that's no biggie. Now I will say this thing hauls #*$&@. I was a bit worried heard people say there's hit a wall at a little over 100 well I'm happy to say mine just hauls #*$&@ breaks 100 without breaking a sweat in my opinion. Racing my son on my old 2011 Apex SE is nothing for this sled. Conditions aren't the best for the trails today Temps were in the mid 30s and easily pulled 105 on a small stretch and on the trail across the lake dead stop to roll ons the Apex holds its on but easily pulling 5 to 6 sled lengths is the norm. From a 40 mph rolling start I let the Apex go before I pulled the trigger just to see how good the Sidewinder is. Well I easily caught up and walked by him. Really good ice conditions other than the 35 degree Temp. My son say when I went by him he looked down and saw 115 when I looked I was doing 118 and still climbing. My gps said 117 after that run. So all in all this is the best sled I have ever owned. I've had no issues except I noticed my coolant reservoir was way low when sled was cold and I'll address that with my dealer cause imho that should have been addressed before delivery. I will say transfer needs some adjustments and I bought a Racewerks rapidblock but I haven't installed it. But so far this sled just flat out rocks.
Nice write up, and I'm glad you like your sled, but if I only had 250 miles on a new sled this far into the season I would be very unhappy. That being said, the weather here in Central NY has been crappy the last two weeks, and I only have on 1,400 miles this season. Should get better by the end of this week.

Most people have had to add coolant. I had to twice within first 200 miles. 500 miles later the level has not dropped again. I certainly wouldn't bother loading up sled and bringing to dealer. Just top it up yourself

I added some but will address it when I take it in for its 500 mile service. Something as simple as that shouldn't be overlooked. I just purchased the sled 3 weeks ago and was gone to Arizona for a week. But I'll have 500 miles on by Tuesday. Then have a week of riding up in the County that will be at least a 1000 miles. And as long as the snow holds here in Maine at least every weekend from now until the end.

I really don't think anything overlooked. I know for a fact my sled coolant was at the cold level mark when I went to pick it up. I believe these sleds purge some air from system in the first couple hundred miles...and that's why most every owner I've talked to...be cat or yamaha has had to top up

Same here, topped it up twice maybe 300ml and seems to be good now.

So over 400 miles this weekend and it keeps getting better. So far no issues other than low coolant but added some. Saw 118 gps on the lake speedo read 122 when I looked briefly with more there I think just ran out of room. Need to make a few small adjustments to suspension maybe a little bit more ski pressure and definitely more transfer is needed. Hope this is the norm.

Wow,now it works again,my reply post section, all good now.Hi brother,i hope its not just the SE that is fast,my boys SE like yours last weekend in rangley on very hard packed snow, went 122,123 and 125 flashed once he said,i told him from my past cat turbo speedos they are 4 mph high after 100 and my 17 LE I had on grass this past nov. was spot on under 100 at 93 mph speedo gps 93 in 500 feet,so his sled on gps would of been very close to yours 118So over 400 miles this weekend and it keeps getting better. The kit comes empty with a million tuning washers, etc... He provides very detailed instructions for stock sleds all the way up to 270hp flashed sleds. I installed mine as per his instructions and RPMs are bang on all through the shift. Spring is also included. Engagement is low like stock and very easy to move around slowly/load on trailers etc...Ulmers kit is STM weights loaded to whatever you asked him to load them to,and primary spring. for $250 I think!

When I get my LTX-LE fixed late next month,if you would like to hook up,i have a 4 bedroom house in Patten,my son and I both have 137 LTX,s like yours, and our friend has 2011 xtx ape that we ride with a lot, would be a fun trip. I haven't had any issues with the belt or any binding that I know of but plan to look the sled over after this weekends ride. And Pete that sounds great idea love to hookup with some fellow TY riders. The clutch kit came like mentioned above I loaded the weights as per Allan instructions and seem to be spot on rims have been 8750 to 8800. Great low speed engagement that's smooth and great shifts.

Does Allen use SuperTip weights? I cannot remember.
those are what I ran for awhile on the cat if I recall, they need to be removed to change washers ect on the weight i think, loaded from side.
STM.
