Flash Comparisons - TD-Hurricane-EVO other

I’m getting chills
Dave ,if you and Ben do this just add the cost of it to the tunes .Then you"ll see who really wants this . Things now work just fine ,as both keep moving forward with great products .

Would the comparison be "X's and O's" or dots and dashes. I really don't know the exact computer languages.

Ok can we have the same comparison for clutch kits for tuned sleds for trail riding also?

Actually i don't want to see a HP comparison.
And a side by side run wouldn't help much either since there are WAY to0 many factors involved.

I can say this. I have a tuner for street motorcycles that i consider to be one of the best. He does his initial tune on the dyno & then he HIMSELF rides it.
Then he re-tunes, then rides, then re-tunes over & over & over.
When he is all done, the HP numbers are actually DOWN a bit, but the rideability & smoothness especially on the street is second to none.

Now, i WOULD like to hear some real life reports on these tunes, not just "it rips dude", but actual info.
I'm talking when the power comes on or the track spins too much down low now or my gas mileage sucks or IT BLEW UP!
I'd like un-biased assessments that stay cordial enough before the thread gets deleted, but honest enough so individuals can choose the tune that best fits THEM!
Not everyone wants pure Horse Power..........i mean we WANT it, we just realize we shouldn't have it.

Lots of tuners out there now.....Its not just the "GAP" big boys....(there is Evo,Precision,Speedwerx,Excell, and likely more)

I have run many season of Bens(TD)on my cat, and now running Hurricane on my winder. Never a hiccup with either of these two tuners. And that is why in the polls from last season, it was TD and Hurricane that were far out selling all the others.

I will say, Im very happy that Im running GAP stuff. Even though the tunes/maps themselves are purely TD or Hurricane, the software behind the tunes is GAP. Loving things like the new handlebar switch from GAP and now the latest will be the new cluster flash. So much GAP works on, and they even have me leaning to test Copi-Trail, which really is plain sick!

I will say, if it was not for GAP and these tunes Im running from Dave and Bens Stock modded muffler, this belt life and poor engineering from CAT would have me running back to doo fast. Its these tunes/software that make me want to fix this belt life and all the other shortfalls of this sled. What other sled can run 270 hp on 87 octane at trail speeds all weekend? Have a instant knock lite come on when you hold it too long so you dont hurt the motor on whatever fuel you are able to get.....A stock modded muffler that is NOT LOUD in anyway, far far quieter then my cat or apex(stock muffler) ever could dream to be.

While I love all the newest goodies coming for power ect.....I would LOVE if someone would figure out these belts/clutching stuff. It simply may be 270hp is never gonna have any type of belt life, who knows. I sure hope we can find something new this season, maybe the offset I changed late last season will fix it? Who knows. I give Dave kudos for the alignment bar, the new dampener/stub shaft, and now the latest intercooler. All great additions to these sleds.

Dan

Talked with Dave from Hurricane today for more than a half hour...guy is fabulous to deal with!! Explained everything I could have wanted to know about the stock muffler bundled tunes. He was terrific!! (Thanks so much Dave...greatly appreciated).

We even talked about the belt problems, Dave said once he used his clutch alignment tool on The Winders, and straitened out the offset issues ...no more belt problems at all...even on the boosted sleds too!!
That certainly makes sense.

Really, this was tried last year and was a big mistake.. penis size got in the way of real good info posting. This will help no one. Its like doing a brand comparison, run what you like and move on.

I would like to see vids of each tune running against a stock sled, how many sled lenghts in 5 or 600ft, 1000ft, i think that would give us a good idea as to what your getting, without the who's fastest or best. Their are to many variables on setups and conditions to pit them against each other, thats what the racers are for.

No me and Dave are not the same guy. And we have totally different approaches to tuning. Only thing that we do the same is use gap tech for flashing.

I think the questions that should be asked and answered...

1 - power... We both make power. I like to think we have an edge and with our racing results are hard to deny... Customers doing record times at nbssr radar.
Snow drag domination in Québec in two different racing organisation (tsr) and val dor. Mitchell moeller running 5.13 130mph with a stock ex manifold... Stock clutches and stock fuel tank the killer pro mod class... One of the best et of the 22 group. He was the only guy running a td stock ecu tuned and a td highflow intake and intercooler and only guy to have so little mods... That class has full billet frames pneumatic air clutches huge budgets etc...

And the list goes on...

Trail wise it's really close power wise imo.
We have some awesome trail tested and proven stock muffler maps (up to max spool 16). That is pretty unique in the tuner field.

2 reliability... Should be top priority, we have the highest number of tunes out there by far yet have a stellar record of reliability.

3 response driveability fuel economy etc...

We have something for everyone here.
Lightning quick response In the max spool maps.
Fuel eco in ecotrail and powertrail maps and yet still spools hard.

And all maps are very easy to drive maybe a bit more violent on the td max series.

4 service... We have Mike... Nuff said lol.
For some reason I had the "we have the hulk" quote from the avengers in my head after I wrote that lmao!!

And so it begins,,,,,Tom please nip this in the bud
. I don't think anything disrespectful or even remotely negative was said towards your shop.

This is a good opportunity to talk about your tuning and give more info about your shop.
