Just got another bunch of miles on mine. Man this thing is just so damn fun.
Did some swapping today with buds 850 G4 and man I like mine so much better, way more power and much more planted and predictable.
Also.....I don't think the 900t is for me. That iTC throttle is just too awkward feeling for me. It worked alot better on my 1200 then this one does. So I just cannot see owning one of those. When I have the perfect sled for me now. As long as its not breaking down, the sled is miles of smiles....where as the 900t I would be using that throttle ever second of ever ride, and there is no way to forget that it feels wrong.
Will see what YAM does tues...Hopefully more then just 998 version Riot. I really need to have a 129", as I have mine working so well for how I like it.
BTW over 2050 miles now on this Ultimax, same belts I started season with.

Might as well keep it Dan, nothing out there at the moment that compares.
I'm keeping mine too as nothing out there with the options we have now. Can't get the QS3'r anymore even. I don't want the electric shocks myself and never change them from 1 anyway.
I'm loving mine now that we've addressed and fixed the shortcomings Cat so nicely left us with.

I dont mind upgrading to new Winder if a 129 is avail.....but Id rather have 1.25 and full height for my rough trail riding on weekends....basically the sled I own. lol.
Yeah the giggle factor of this 998 when tuned 270 or more is just addicting.

I forgot, I did get a "No reverse" code for first time today...Not sure why that acted up now. Tried it when I got home on stand and it works fine now, no code all normal. Maybe the deflection is a tad tight, but I have always run it tight.

Dan, a cable won't fix this problem. There is too much volume in the manifold between the throttle butterfly and the intake valves. Yamaha nailed it when they left the individual throttle bodies on. Brilliant. The smallest amount of volume possible between high pressure and low pressure = instant throttle response. Wish my turbo F-150 was designed the same way.Exactly what Ive been thinking since I rode the 900t....That throttle just is not gonna cut it.

This is true. I find myself leaving the electronic shock setting in soft all the time. I think the only time I would use firm is on very smooth trails, it may carve better through high speed corners with less roll.Might as well keep it Dan, nothing out there at the moment that compares.

In addition, the system itself needs a little improvement as it doesn't always go into change mode with ease. You almost need to come to a stop so you can focus on what's going on on the dash, which negates the whole benefit.
On the flip side, the button works with my tune to change horsepower settings, so all is not lost, haha.

I know ehh ? To funny, I'm going through the same thing, amazing! Buddy and I thought we were going crazy, and he's on an Srx, that's not supposed be a trail sled (so they say) who are they anyway ? We'd be stoped at an intersection, guys pull up (on other brands of course) and say the trails are rough that way... we'd say oh well we kinda need to go in that direction. When stopped we'd wonder what all the fuss is about. This sled is BY FAR the most fun sled i have ever been on and what's even better is when you stop for lunch and everybody is bitching about the beat up trails you just say....."what bumps?"

Dan, I don't think deflection can cause the sd 08 code to show. Most likely the brushes are hanging up, like mine did last year.I forgot, I did get a "No reverse" code for first time today...Not sure why that acted up now. Tried it when I got home on stand and it works fine now, no code all normal. Maybe the deflection is a tad tight, but I have always run it tight.

The problem is the long intake track on 900t. Always was a poor design IMO, not perf oriented like the YAM 4s engines with TB's right next to cyls. That is why they went to iTC but they need to reprogram it! I hear Olivier at Boost Engineering has them worked out, and feeling more connected like a proper throttle.Dan, a cable won't fix this problem. The '20 has two susp settings where you can make them custom,so you can get to those saved settings faster. This is true. I find myself leaving the electronic shock setting in soft all the time. I find riding my Winder in big junk on clicker #3 makes it way better, I can pound it hard and not get tired...it just skips the tops of the 4 footers now.

Programming may help somewhat, but it will never be as good as the Winder without redesigning the intake. The problem is the long intake track on 900t. Yeah just started today...and then did it like 4 times all day. Got home, put on stand and works normal.Dan, I don't think deflection can cause the sd 08 code to show. Most likely the brushes are hanging up, like mine did last year.

How do you know that the 20 settings are changed....?The '20 has two susp settings where you can make them custom,so you can get to those saved settings faster.

After thousands of great miles, I'd say that's just an MGR.Dan, I don't think deflection can cause the sd 08 code to show. Most likely the brushes are hanging up, like mine did last year.

They seem to trap moisture inside and then one or both of the brushes hang up.Yeah just started today...and did it like 4 times all day. Got home, put on stand and works normal.
