I just ordered up a new Challenger (9785) to replace my damn POS Maverick. Notably it's a 2 Pace (every second window clipped) and just wondering if I should have any concerns on not running a fully clipped track. This is my first ever track swap so I'm not to familiar with advantages of clipping over weight and track speed. I'm running a stock 08 Nytro MTX, but I am geared down 18/40. I'm generally riding mid 20's-30's heavy/wet Pacific Northwest pow. Should I be fine with a 2 Pace clip? Anyone else who's running this track have any issues? Thanks!
I was planning on putting in a powerclaw, but the $200+ price difference swayed me. Especially after getting skunked at the snow show last weekend. Figured anything is a improvement over the Maverick so I'm sure I'll be happy.

Your drivers will only work on fully clipped.

I have a PowerClaw going on as soon as my clips get here. Was thinking the same thing .. to go full or stick with 2 pace..... I went for the clips as it was my understanding that you'd get less friction on the slides. Not concerned with a minor weight addition ...( one less Starbucks full caff fat bomb a week should even it out..) I wonder if there is any advantage with full clip in regards to the drivers "bite" on the track????
Now I just need to beg/borrow/steal a tool to install ..... dealer here does not have one

every other clip shouldn't be a problem.. that is what I run.
though, don't you mean 9985 track? 153x2.25x3" pitch?
not a 9785? I don't know what that track is...

Thanks for the feedback all. Think I'll just keep it 2 pace, especially since ruffy runs it. We ride the same conditions except I'm better at getting stuck.
And yeah, think I typo'd the part there, it's the 153x2.25x3.0"

Cool... Yah, the track is a big improvement from the maverick. Stopping is much much improved too. It still is a little soft for our conditions though... most things are soft for cascade crud, or concrete depending upon the time of day.
Good on yah. Oh, use the manual for taking the drive shaft out, and the chain case requires, a "sensitive" touch, to get the cover back on. I will be pulling mine in the next week or to, to replace all the bearings. You are welcome to stop on by and check it out if you want.....
