I am curious how and where everyone is mounting their Gap flashers.
I have been tie strapping mine just in front of the chaincase reverse actuator but last year it migrated too close to the heat from the exhaust and actually melted its casing a bit...fortunately it still works fine but now not so pretty.

Here it is and I just put a piece of electrical tape to cover usb port so no water gets in

I had tried that but the velcro wouldn't stay secured to the shield so maybe I needed better adhesive on the velcro?
I actually used adhesion promoter on both pieces than stuck on never came of since I installed. Try that I got it from a recal I used to do on grand am for plastic I’m a Gm tech lol. But you can buy at automotive parts store or hardware I’m assuming.
And I see your from Ontario and I just bought that Velcro from my favourite store Canadian Tire lol.

velcro on the reverse motor shield, jus remember if you leave it plugged in for a long time it will drain battery
Ya true I usually have my sled plugged into a battery tender and in summer I remove battery and Flasher.

I put mine in a soft eye glass case and put it in the inside U of the foot well so it sits just above my boot. It lays in there real snug with the case. I have not ran it there yet so not sure if a problem may develop, but I really didn't want it on the reverse cover.

It's too bad we couldn't make up an extension for the communicator plug. I mean we could solder and extend every wire, but something that would be plug and play so we could mount the communicator between the steering post struts where there is plenty of heat and it's dry. Not to mention there is plenty of room there.

Mine has been plugged in by the reverse actuator since 2017 and I don't unplug it ever. Never an issue. The only downfall is i have to wiggle the panel lock by it to fasten the side panel....no biggie

You can also use the rubber band holder that fits many of the square yamaha starter solenoids. I don't think it's available separate however.
