Well, I finally received my used parts from Montana and installed a replacement lower a arm and shock on my Nytro. The day after Boxing day I nailed a pressure ridge on the lake. It felt like I hit the Great Wall of China. I bent and twisted the lower a arm and the shock. I thought for sure I bent the subframe even with having a Grizz Gusset kit installed because everything looked so far out of whack. Anyway, I installed the replacement a arm and shock and everything looks great!
Anyone who doesn't have a Grizz gusset kit should seriously think of getting one. I just want to thank Grizztracks for making these kits available and always taking the time to answer many of our questions.

I have one, just havent found the effort to install it. Plus am going to collect all the new worn out parts before I do it and likely wait till end of season. All those ball joints and tie rod ends sure add up. On the bright side I got a full set of oilites for Christmas from my sweetness. ![Div20 ;)! ;)!](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/div20.gif)

I said the same thing, I will get through last winter and do them in the summer. Then some bone head decided to turn in front of me, needless to say I got pretty intimate with the nytro shortly after buying it. Now after doing 5 of them in the last 2 years, I can have a sled stripped and the sub frame on the bench in a little over an hour.
If you find a free weekend that you can't ride, do it. My wanting to wait cost me to loose 2 weekends worth of riding. If you can do your own wrenching and have a welder handy, you can pull it apart , weld it up and do the a-arm bushings in a day easy. Some guys do the welding in the sled but I add a few more gussets and I also don't like taking a chance of welding spatter balls hitting a wire somewhere and burning in. That and it is easier to weld with it off the sled. I think there is only 12 bolts holding the sub frame on. Real easy to change oil then also.... LOL...

Grizztracks was great in answering all my concerns and installing the Grizztracks' gusset kit was the first thing I did upon having to put in a new subframe....although having the kit in probably wouldn't have made a big difference in my run in.....damn culvert! ![Div20 ;)! ;)!](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/div20.gif)

Im looking to install the grizz gussets. Im assuming you have to take the sub frame off in order to weld the gussets on? How hard is it to take the subframe off?

It is easier to do with the frame out because then you can flip it around to get better angles when you are welding. Guys have done on the sled but you have to be super carefull not to have any welding spatter go where you don't want it to. Even with a mig welder you will get the odd spatter ball. To take it off I think grizz has a complete write up on removing the sub frame.
I can explain it if you can't find the post. If you are alright with pulling wrenches it is not to bad. I can have one out and on the bench in just over an hour, but I have done 4 in the last couple of weeks.

I had a shop locally install mine with the subframe installed so that I could make sure the shocks were aligned correctly in the a-arms. Turned out excellent and I already tested it once this year already and absolutely no movement! This is a must for any nytro IMO.

I did the same thing , except I own a welding shop. I stripped it literally strapped the sled down to a table , and bent and tugged the frame exactly into shale and welded that bitch up. Lasted 2 seasons and I just talked a water bar I think I bent the lower a armnewfie09xtx said:I had a shop locally install mine with the subframe installed so that I could make sure the shocks were aligned correctly in the a-arms. Maybe a silly question. How do yo get to the mountain tech full skid plate nuts to take it off and put it on?

I use the clips that come in the kit. This is the forth season like that and they have never failed me. I have pics of how I did it in my build, link in my signature.

Mine didn't come with those, I got nyloc nuts and washers.
