Hand warmer harness
I was just told by the dealer (Highlands Yamaha) that this is a discontinued item and not in stock in the warehouse. Does anyone know of a dealer that has this part?
Thanks in advance, Bill

At the end it says it is a free update for all 08 sleds only?... also is a $10.32 harness part number 90891-50150-00. I did this without removing the headlight, just feeding the wire through the sled. All this does is wire the warmers in a series. my handwarmers actually work, and they never have since I owned the sled. (07 mountain lite)
I TRIED THIS ON MY 06 ATTAK AND IT DID NOTHING. Now I tried the RSI update, first ride last nite. I still have cold hands!!
Well no luck for me of course. They are about the same as my stock grips.
Last nite at 20 with lots of wind they were barely adequate. On full high I could barely feel any heat. Both of the RX 1's that were with me had they'rs on 1 and were hot.
All my connections are soldered. This is so friggin agrivating.

I like the stock ones. They start to work around when you hit the trottle past half or after 40 mph foe, then they burn you hands. Then again I dont complaine much abou the sled or the cold for that matter. I road the whole parade lap without a wind shield and was still worm. my feet were cold however just standing around and fellt like brick. Did I care, no.
I guess I just adapted thru the army in cold and worm places and not having good stuff when I grew up.

any way to look at my 08 MTX to see if I have the updated harness before I order one? My hands almost froze off over the weekend and it wasnt that cold out.

I installed the updated wiring harness on my 07 GT and it made a huge difference. Anything over 3 bars is too hot - even riding at -30 C.
I did foam my handlebars a couple of weeks ago and cannot really tell if there is a difference.
I just got off the phone with my dealer and he said that the harness upgrade had been done on my sled and the only way to increase heat is to upgrade the coils and such, which he said is quite a pain in the butt.
Im at a loss because my hand warmers were not warm and definately not too hot to the touch at 3 bars. I had both the thumb and hand warmers maxed out and thought I was going to get frost bite. It was about 20 degrees F and we were doing a good constant 50-60 mph for most of the ride. It doesnt add up.

Anyone have the yamaheaters on the phazer?
I need to find out about my handwarmers; I few days ago I was riding and my engine kept over heating and my hand warmers weren't working properly, had them full blast going only 30km/h on my way home because of the heating issue?

I installed this wiring harness upgrade on my 2007 MTX this past weekend. WOW! What a difference! With the sled sitting at an idle and the warmers on the 4th line it is hottt! Cant imagine how warm it will be on the trail when the sled is running higher rpm's and with the warmers on a higher line than 4! I will keep everyone updated.

Is there anyway to just splice the wires easily and accomplish the same thing? My local dealer doesnt have the part in stock and i want to ride tomorrow. My 07 warmers barely get warm at all.
