I got the gloves after I got an '06 Apex and before the handwarmer fix. The heating elements are on the back of the fingers and while they work great for me others have reported some durability issues with the connectors. I keep them in the saddlebags for when it gets really cold or use them when plowing snow with my Grizzly.
I have no complaints and feel they were a good investment.

I have had one of the jacket liners for about 10 years and other then having some problems with a thermostat that I bought to control unit it does work, in fact if you put it on HI it will roast you out. It does fit under the regular jacket nicely, I can leave a couple of layers of stuff off. Be sure if you do get one to connect it directly to the battery with a separate fuse and use good heavy connectors for the jacket, originally I used a cigarett lighter plug but it didn't pass enough current so I went with a different type connection. Hope this helps, Merry Christmas
