Just thought I'd say hey....I've lurked here for months, and finally registered. Why? Because all of you people on this forum have pretty well convinced me that the Attak is the sled I intend to buy very shortly!

My plan? Wait for the 2007's to be announced, look for any new earth-shattering new models or options, and if Attak still looks like the sled for me, I'll place an order in spring. I've already talked to my local Yamaha dealer and it seems like a REALLY good dealer that freely lays out invoice pricing on the table and doesn't waste my time with the fallacy of paying full MSRP for a sled. I'm hoping by next model year the handwarmer/idler wheel issue thing will be worked out which seems to be all the buzz around here. My plan will be to install a 1.5 ripsaw and Simmons skis (unless I get real lucky and they make one or both of those standard!), then hit the trail!

In the meantime? ONE MORE YEAR on my 15,000 mile + 1998 Ski-Doo Formula Z 670 that's been modified. But guess what? Doo lost me when they went to the REV, which is why I've clinged to my last new Doo for so long. I've waited and waited, but they don't seem to be doing what I want them to do, so I'm jumping ship!

I considered Crossfire and Attak, and I am TOTALLY sold on the 4 stroke mania and reliability/smoothness/build quality that Yamaha offers better than anyone else, so here I come!

I'll pitch in when I feel qualified, but mostly I'm just going to watch and continue to learn about all your experiences with the Attak so I'm fully prepared for what to expect when I buy my first new Yamaha in 34 years.

Thanks for listening....and to whomever is in charge, this is a really cool forum!

Welcome , yep I remember those old yammy sleds 2 of my friends had 433 GP's loud but for that time period they'd run on top end ,at the timeI was on my 2nd ski doo 400 free air ,.1st was a 71 440 tnt! You'll be impressed with these new yammies when you through a leg over one. :rocks:

Welcome! I too did the same thing you have done........lurk around and see what people are saying about these sleds.

I was sold on the 4 stroke for 3 years now......but was waiting on the suspension to be as soft on the Yamahas as they were on Cat. For 2006....the suspension is complete!! Best riding Yamaha I have ever ridden.

I also purchased the Attak based on a lot of information on this site. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site willing to help you with any issue you may have.

Again.....congratulations and welcome. You will not be sorry with your choice. ;)!

Welcome - You won't be disappointed.

any ?'s, just ask.

"HOWDY"........................ Welcome.. Wait until you feel the motor on a 4-S sled.. MM. ;)!

Welcome to this site. This is truely a great place to be on the net. Be carefull, though. You'll get addicted, especially after you start talking with peaple and you finnally own one of these great peices of machinery.
As said, don't be a ffraid to ask questions, that's what we are here for, to learn from each other and improve our rides and to meet new friends. ENJOY.

Vince

Welcome..... :4STroke:

I would wait on the simmons and try the bergstrom set up first....unless you plan on doing alot of off trail and need the flotation.

Welcome! My first sled was the SL 351! So we must be from the same era! LOL Once you're convinced that you're hooked make sure you buy a hat and consider a donation to MR. SLED. If it were not for him this site would not exist. Once you have made a donation you will be a VIP Member! I have never enjoyed an internet site as much as TY.com. (Thanks Tom!) Good luck with your future decision.

After I lurk some more, I'll give some serious consideration to the VIP donation thing. I do believe in supporting good stuff on the internet that many people say is "free." I know better than that...these sites take work and MONEY. But I'm considering myself in the "free trial membership" phase for the moment.

Thanks much to all for the very warm welcome...

Welcome to the site :yam:
I remember those white Yamaha's. I use to chase my buddies around on them on my 72 440 nordic.

U Mean these OLD CLUNKER's :D :D
