HERE IT IS! NEW APEX 2011

What do you think a 1200 DOO is going to feel like with EPS. They already have EPS on their ATV's. Plus they already have their handling figured out. After buying 2 new Yamaha sleds and 2 new Yamaha ATV's since 2006, I think my next sled will not be a Yamaha.

I have a 1200 in the garage and I have to say, I question the durability of the sled. I have had my attak for 4 years now and have no doubt it will outlast the doo. The doo steering while being lighter than my Attak, certainly does not feel like power steering. And all the manu's will be playing catch-up for a while in this department.

At the prices we are paying for these sleds, my main concern is durability. I have had none of the problems most had with 06 Attaks. I take it apart every summer and go through everything. Maybe I have been lucky :dunno: Can't wait to see what the doo looks like this summer. It will have approx ~2000 miles on it.

I really like the new XTX. Can't wait to test ride one. Price doesn't scare me.

If you really had a 1200 in the shed you wouldn't question its durability. Mine is doing fantastic even with a turbo on it!

I have not heard of any durabilities on the 1200 ski-doo... Not sure why, you think that. I can give you a list of the things that have broke on my Apex GT and my Nytro XTX.

Maybe I should be clearer... I question what it will look like when it has 10,000+ miles on it like my Attak. My wife rides it hard and she ain't afraid of the flipper. ;)! To be honest, I take care of my stuff and my attak looks virtually new. There is a balance point to making sleds light verses making them durable and there are certainly compromises made on the doo as well as yam. We'll have to see what fails and when.

I know you like your 1200 better, but that is your opinion and you are welcome to it. I have put a couple hundred miles on the 1200 and l personally like my Attak better(yet my wife hates it). Nothing wrong with the Doo, just personal preference. I'll give you that the doo handles better out of the box, but my Attak is it's equal, for me, the way I have it set up. And I like the four cylinder much better, stock to stock.

If we keep the 1200, I will be looking at forced induction over the summer as the one complaint so far from my wife is it doesn't have the low end snap she likes. Guess I'll need to spend time over at dootalk to read about the latest in power adders. I'm thinking a blower instead of a turbo and have questions. I will be looking for 200 or so, reliable hp.

I may be relatively new to posting around here, but I have read plenty. I am all about preventative maintenance and have had virtually none of the problems that seem common on the Apex's. Sled comes apart in the summer so I do not have downtime when snow is on the ground. These forums make me paranoid. But that's what makes TY so good. I've been able to keep on top of things.

That GSX Doo in my avy is my main riding partner's and that damn thing has ruined at least on trip a year for the four years he's had it. Made me leery of buying the 1200 for my wife. But then again, he does nothing to it until something happens so I can't blame the sled entirely. Our 1200 will get the same treatment as the Attak.

I won't turn this into a pissing contest as Mikes opinion does not matter to me. I know what I have and feel zero need to prove it. I hope he enjoys what he spends his hard earned money on just as I do. Opinions differ and that's okay with me. :-o
