I can't believe you can run the same rpm with the 8DN, 8JP or XS825. I see a huge difference between these belts.Ya I was running bare ice today racing chiseled up, and with trail studs on ice earlier in the week. Was running 8jp this week. I seem to turn the same rpms with an 8jp, 8dn or xs825. The gates brings the rpms down a bit. 105mph is moving pretty good in 500 feet with trail studs for yours.

8dn and 8jp run the same and feel the same to me. I haven't ran the xs825 for many kms, but from what I saw, was running similar rpms as the other 2. Only the gates seemed to pull my revs down 100-200. Im not looking at the gauge either to verify, I have the gap tool with data logging so I can see exactly what is happening with the rpms.
So you're not seeing any difference in rpm...what about speed8dn and 8jp run the same and feel the same to me. I found I lost rpm with the 8DN and lost speed. I thought the 8jp was pretty close to the xs825.

Not a huge difference no. I don't do top speed runs, so couldn't tell you that, but in 660, 8dn and 8jp run the exact same on my sled. I mostly trail ride and drag race for fun. I should have put the td gps on it today, first time I had the chisels on it working well. It runs 110ish in 660 most days, but mph doesn't mean alot in 660. All about E.T
Wow Phil. You're running really heavy weights correct? Like 85g if my memory serves me. Maybe the heavy weight and a shallow helix aren't affected by the belt change as much?

What parts do they swap out?Correct.
Is the reason to not upgrade to a new, larger turbo simply added cost?
Can anyone state what the cost would be for a reasonably sized larger one?

Ya, right around 85 grams. Mine is also a 129 vs most are 137, it must make somewhat of a difference turning less track.

Modstock just replaces the compressor wheel of the turbo, possibly the compressor housing as well.
The turbo isn't the expensive part, its everything else. You can get a gtx30 series for like 1600usd, good for 600hp, but then you need rods, pistons, head studs, timing chain, valve springs, head o-ringed, injectors, fuel pumps, etc etc. +++
Interesting Phil. My 137 seems to be very sensitive to every minor change I make. I'm watching a TD gauge with every change too, so I'm not getting fooled by a seat of the pants change. So are you running a shallow helix?Ya, right around 85 grams. Mine is also a 129 vs most are 137, it must make somewhat of a difference turning less track.
