Does the Cat dual rate have a crossover adjustment or is it floating? I like Hygear's crossover with the extra spring adjustment it provides.
There is no adjustment on Cat dual rate springs besides preload for the single spring. The Cat is just a dual rate single spring. Hygear setup is two different springs on the shock.
I think you will be happy with the Hygear. I've been using their dual rate setup with adjustable crossover on the front skid shock. Both stock shocks in the rear were also revalved by them.
I run Fox zero-X in another sled that Hygear valved and added piggyback, DSC etc to another and did a nice job.

Drums what sled do you have? I agree the crossover setup is better. I noticed my stock spring has sprung at about 6000mi I have had to keep tightening preload to keep same light feel of front. Pretty sure spring is shot so experimenting with dual rate wth higher final.
The Hygear dual rate and revalve are in a 137"..Cat 7000.

I was considering Hygear's Dual Pressure canisters but found the Fox Float 3 Evol upgrade for $275 shipped. Nothing wrong with Hygear's setup but I do prefer the fact that the Fox kit has shock caps that accommodate the canisters instead of clamping them on. I also ran Hygear's dual rate spring on my Nytro's center shock and really liked it so I'm going to try it on the Viper RTX shock.

To each his own, I didn't want to send EVOL off to have them installed and liked that the Hygear can be removed easily when I sell the sled somewhere down the road. That being said I bought a pair of used EVOL to have shortened and test, so I will have both. Buying the EVOL shocks keeps me from having a sled down.
I'm glad to hear that others have had good luck with Hygear. I, unfortunately have not. I've spent thousands of $ with them over the years, the final dollars being spent on re-valve package on my Viper. It was wrong from day one and my comments fell on deaf ears. Ross being the owner didn't even have the courtesy to call me to discuss the problem. When I approached him at the local snowmobile show he told me that "there was nothing that he could do for me". I dropped his #*$&@ on the table and walked away. The season is way to short to waste time and money on Hygear IMO

Ouch! I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can find a shock package that will work for you.I'm glad to hear that others have had good luck with Hygear. I, unfortunately have not. I went with someone else and he agreed that the valving that Hygear used didn't make any sense. After installing the shocks I could instantly see a difference in the chassis and the way it responded to my input.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that Hygear does good work. It was the customer service (or lack of) and complete disrespect from Ross. I guess i'm just one fish in the pond that he doesn't need.
I'm an independent contractor myself and I wish I had that much business that I could afford to treat people like he treated me

Wow this surprises me. I bought a shock from them and yes the valving was not right. I sent it back and they revalved it and updated the shock with a oneway rebound valve. All free of charge and no hassles. Hope you guys get some satisfaction from them. I know how it feels to get treated that way. Keep trying.
