Guys I feel pretty stupid right now, but another question.
The rubber T's that connect the float bowels together are 5/16th. The vent line that you are supposed to cut in 3" pieces is 5/16th.
The hose that connects to the pitot tube is 3/8th. The 90degree fitting and the T that both these 3" hoses go to are 3/8th.
There is no way that I'm going to be able to get that 5/16th hose on those 3/8th connectors. Especially after the T's are glued to the carbs.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think it is actually 10mm, anyhow it will fit but it is VERY tight. Out the hose on the T's BEFORE gluing them on. If you do not you will break the glue seal while trying to put the hose on.

Spray25: I have the hose on the tee's that glue to the carbs. But I'm having trouble getting that hose from the T's onto the 90 degree fitting and the T that is on the 3/8 pitot hose.
I used Yamabond #4 on the carb T's and wire tied them. Thanks

I bought two 3/8x5/16 vacuum tee's at the parts store and used them! made life a whole lot easier. don't know why they didn't put them in there in the first place. them tee's are a bitch to find. u may have to have your auto store order them.
Big Dog,
Is the hose hard or soft? I have seen some that have turned hard for some reason. Those are near impossible to put on. If they are still soft try some heat or windex to get the to slid on. Again do all of this BEFORE you glue them. If they are hard replace them.
Nitro,
Can you show us a pic of the T's you used? Are they rubber or are the plastic that you had to put small pieces of hose on?

spray25: My clear hoses are pretty soft. But what I did was, get 5/16 vacuum hose at the auto parts. Its a little thicker walled but I believe it won't get hard over time.
I think my problem was because Bender sent the pitot hose preassembled. The entire hose with the T and 90 degree fitting is about 26 inches long. So I cut the clamps off and removed the fittings. That way I can put the 3" hoses on those fittings and then put them on the T's that go on the carbs.
My buddy that owns the auto parts store is trying to find me the 3/8th down to 5/16th fittings like nitro is talking about. Most auto stores stock 3/8th down to 1/4.
Weatherman is calling for a serious snow store to hit Southwestern Pa between Sunday night and Tuesday morning. I really want to get this together my Sunday evening so I can get out and start dialing it in.
Thanks for all the help guys.

Spray25: The fittings that I'm trying to get should be hard plastic just like the ones that are on the pitot hose how.
I guess the hard plastic ones would work fine as long as there is enough room to get enough rubber hose on them and the carbs. It is absolutely critical that you have no leaks anywhere in that setup.

Spray25: We're not talking about the T's that go on the carbs. We are talking about the T's that go on the pitot hose. Nitro, are you talking about the same ones I'm talking about?
OK that makes MUCH more since now!!!
I'm a little slow sometimes.

Yes I'm talking about the same one. I don't have a pic of the tee but i believe it may be an OMC brand. They are hard plastic made for fuel injection lines.
I don't believe for any reason that u cannot use the 3/8x 1/4. As long as it is clamped on so there are no leaks.
As far as using the soft line, i too heated mine too to get them on before i got these tee's, the trouble with the heated ones is they will get hard in a short time and actually break the glue under the clamp and cause it to start leaking.
I don't know why bender doesn't put them tee's in there kit.along with new exhaust donuts!! I couldn't get my donuts out without wrecking them and had to get new ones.
I even talked to terry at Brainard MN during the shootout and told him about them two problems. I kinda thought he was going to start including the right tee's and the donuts.

Kip or any of the guys that are running the EGT close to the engine. What temperatures are running @ for 50-70 MPH cruising, and what temperature are you getting up to @ the end of say a 1/4 mile run?
Turbo Tim
TY 4 Stroke Master
If I remember correctly , I used 3/8 on the two lines that go to the carb "t"s , I inserted a metal bushing inside each of the t"s to support them and expand them out , then you can use a regular hose clamp.

Got everything put together. Fired right up, but leaking gas fom out of belly paint.
Does not want to idle. Only runs with a little bit of throttle. Can not see any leaks from any fuel lines. Will have to take the air box off and investigate.
It tries to idle like a float is sticking.
