OK I just picked up an 06 Apex ER from a friend. Has 5000 miles and needs a few things, 4 idler wheels, one rear wheel, drive axle bearing, and A Arm bushings.
What worries me is that the A arm bushings are badly worn as expected and I want to install Brass ones like I did on my 06 GT. I am concerned that the plastic bushings are worm severe enough to damage the bulkhead as in Egg shaping the holes. What is the chance that this has already happened?

ANYONE?
At 5ooo miles the plastic bushing will be worn out. Under normal driving conditions the chances of the bulkhead being egged out are fairly low. If they are, Travis has a fix for that.

From experience I would say just about zero chance that would happen in 5000 miles. Helped a friend install them in his sled at 14000 miles and bulkhead was perfect.ANYONE?

THANK YOU! GOOD TO HEAR SINCE I HAVE READ HORROR STORIES OF BULKHEADS NEEDING REPLACEMENT, SHOULD I GO WITH BRONZE OR JUST PLASTIC AGAIN?

First, turn off cap lock.
Second, go with the Oilites or bronze bushings. Plastic won't last long.

Do what someone else does on here that I know. Change the font size and use the Bold option.

If they are egged out install with some loctite quick metal. That will take up the slack if they aren't too bad.

I changed mine at 5500miles. I used oilites from Bender. They were very tight, had to use a socket to tap most of them in. 9400mi now and still perfect. I'm trying to hit the 10000 mi mark this year on my 06 ER.

Put my saver kit on and you will never ever wear out a bulkhead bushing.

I didn't get to change mine until 8000 miles and the Oilites went in fine so you should be good to go at only 5500.
