Kind of a goofy question but.........Are the 4 strokes

Cleaner under the hood/engine area than the two strokes? I'm rather fussy about my equipment and like to keep it clean, clean. With my 2 strokes it's almost impossible to remove all of the grime!

Really want to pull the trigger and jump ship to Yamaha this coming season.

Yeah, I kind of figured that. I was wondering if the belt dust was easier to remove if it wasn't mixed with injection oil.

Belt dust does come off very easy.
I take care of both 2 & 4 stroke and the 4-stroke is far easier to keep clean.
The 2 stroke has ares I can't get clean. Maybe I could with a sand blaster ?

Biggest difference I see with mine is no big rusty muffler snaking through the engine compartment leaking exhaust and dropping rust scale everywhere.

the No.1 thing you will notice...is you dont stink anymore. .and that you can put your hand in there and not have to deal with oil and dirt ...there is some but you cant compair...its like dirt and day..i mean night and day..lol..your garage doesnt stink..etc..enjoy the clean no stink engine..

Sorry, but like you said,..."goofy question", and I DID give you the absolute RIGHT answer....beside.... most "fussy" ppl I know , love to clean there iron, and I bet you do too.
I have 9200 on the vector and the belt dust is the most noticable dirt under the hood, other than that, you might want to put some sort of seal/polish/coating on all the aluminum surfaces when new due to eventual corrosion and it will also make things easier to clean later.
I guess I'm someone who doesn't overly concern myself with the outside of my equpment but I can admire the guys who do....your resale might be better...although I've seen some really minty lookin sleds that a few friends have bought over the years that blew up and/or broke shortly after they got sucked into the deal....

Oh I like to clean my "iron" it's therapy for me. Problem is, my experience with 2 strokes is no matter how much you work at it, components get stained and grimy and you just can't get them back to pristine condition. I like to use my equipment and use it hard, but I also like to keep it in showroom condition if I can, I take pride in that.

This is just one aspect of 4 stroke ownership I wondered about. It's by no means a significant part of my decision making process to jump ship. Just curious and the season's about done here. Just stating connected.
