mike i read along last winter as you described your front mount turbo. i thought it was super great from your posts. what happened you are all super charger this year. i sold my mc kit and went to a front mount on my ape partly inspired by your post. what did you learn that i am about to. also is it a must to change the ignition timing on front mount or is this added safety for the mountain guys. rear mount no timing change. i guess inter cooler temps are higher on front mount so you need to retard. i ride all trail no mountains. we never get long hard pulls. lake race i never go beyond 1200 feet or so.

I'm waiting on CPR to finalize there's for this year. The shipping across the border was pure hell last year. Along with the reduced value of the US currency I can't justify the cost and the shipping nightmares. The MPI seems reasonably priced and is on the shelf. My friend had one last year and the only issue was fuel mileage, I need to talk with Mac ant find out why the fuel controller is mounted to the intercooler and not behind the throttle bodies though. No, I don't think you would have to take ignition timing away in the mountains at altitude. It would be recommended below 3000ft. however for 12 lbs of boost. One thing I would say about the Powderlites is the blowoff valve needs to go for trail riding, its to damn loud. If you keep the boost levels reasonable, you don't even want it for trail use. Let me know how you make out and your opinion on the blowoff valve. Mike Knapp#17

mike the blow off dosnt seem to be to loud. but ill tell more after a 300mile day. my rear mount last year use to make me get migrane. had to wear ear plugs . how did you find the fuel controller. were settings pretty close or adjust much. im running the 28rs with my own header. changed the flange area to get more flow less bottle neck. i have a vortech bypass valve got from ted going to install that on saturday. let it blow off before the intercooler to try keep temps down as low as possible on intercooler.

Well, I had the gt25 and had to lean the boost mode to pick up power. I also added two additional outlets to the stock muffler to bring power up. You won't be able to compare settings with different header and turbo however. Anythings quieter than a rear mount! I like em quiet! I also am trying the 3 cyl. this year with CPR turbo. Now that I'm thinking about it, I better give Jeff a call and find out the status on those kits. I've talked to a few people giving up their four cyls and going to the 3. They are supposed to be every bit as powerful, and feel 50 lbs lighter. We'll see. Mike Knapp#17
