I installed the kit last night with the instructions Freddie posted on the net. Meant to bring my camera along and document everything and post a detailed install procedure but of course forgot the camera and was too horny to get at the install. Anyway I lost one of the dam o-rings! What purpose do they serve and am I okay to run a few days without. I suggest anyone installing these kits go to the Yamaha parts finder link at the top of these pages and bring up a picture of their carbs, on the 05 schematic the rings are #34 on the diagrams, it's alot easier to not lose them when you know what you are looking for. I commend Freddie for coming up with this kit, I haven't really had a good run, left all my gear home with the camera, but the short few rips I took were impressive and the growl coming from under the hood is amazing!! Don't plan to install the evac just yet kind of weary about the freeze and moisture issues.

Next step is the clutching here is my new dilemma. I have the Dalton 57.5 weights, 52R46 helix, Yamaha green-silver-green, and silver springs on hand and ready to go. My dealer tells me he "talked to someone who knows" and now recommends the simmons cpr stage II. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Kevin

The little o-ring assists in sealing the cap to the carb body. Even if you don't get the authentic Yamaha part number, and go to an auto parts supply dealer and find something close, it will work. I had a sled come into my shop for an air kit install and when I removed the carb caps to install the CV slide springs, I found 3 of the 4 o-rings missing. The customer rode the sled all last season this way and claimed it ran fine.

thank your dealer for his advice and then install your dalton weights. you should pick up the dalton silver or blue primary spring to go with these weights. aim for 10300 to 10500rpm off the line. if your into drag racing you might try a 56r 43 dalton helix. black john has pulled over 119mph on radar on a stock 03 with these weights, dont be afraid to use them, the numbers dont lie. ;)!

set up

that g/s/g is pretty lame for those arm,s get a dalton blue/black or try a g/g/g. all so a maxamum red is very close as well . i was betting up an the local mach Z boys with those and exellent top end as well i was running a 56r46 helx but i switched to a 56r43 ;)!

question for Black John????

BlackJohn

I'm not really racing the sled, just the occasional rip down the lake. I need something thats trailable and not eating belts. I weigh 175 without gear on. Thanks for your help.
