Hey guys,

I can get a pretty good deal on a FX here, and I wanted to know what the top speed is on these little demons. I really like the riding position and the look grew on me...but where does it compare in speed and power? Is it super off the line and a major dog on top..or what? I realize it's only 80hp, but where does that leave you on the lake?

how long is the lake? :tg:

I have been clocked side by side on several occasions with a REV and Polaris. Every time i hit 90 mph. I asked the other guys next to me to get to 90 mph as well and they did or that there close. Are we actually doing 90 mph. Not sure but both speedo's were around 90. I have not been across a lake but I think she had a few more ticks available. I have talked with one other person and he said he got 94. They take a little to get there but not that bad.

Rode a couple of weeks ago in the Whiteshell with the site member Reaper on his Phaser FX. Yes I could leave him on the big lakes as he would top out at around 90 on the dream meter but once we hit the park, it was hard to keep up with him as that Phazer could haul butt on the trails. Drop him a PM if you want more feedback.

90mph on dreamometer on my fx - gps speed 76mph.

This have been debated on this forum earlier. If you are looking for a lake runner dont buy the phazer.

I would compare it to the exiter 570II. The phazer has faster accelration but I really think I would have been beaten on top end by my old 1992 exiter.

Not thinkin of it as a lake racer, but I have my limits on how slow I'm willing to go. I mean really the average speed you going to ride is about 50-60 mph down good ditches and long trail straights, but in those long fields I want to at least stay somewhere near the pack...not 2 miles behind.

I rode a demo last week and I was empressed with the little guy, I think up to 60 it is as fast as my vector, but after that you can feel it drop off , But most your trail riding is under that speed. and its the fun is sled I ever rode.

On 1/2 mile glare ice Mrsleds bone stock fx with only a few miles on it with studs ran 93mph on radar and 101 on the speedo.

Most I ever hit this year was 88mph.Good enough for around here.Compare it to a 500cc 2smoke its right there and honestly in running with a ZL500 and MXZ500 mine was faster.

Reaper had no problems with his Phazer FX in our group. The day we rode there was an Apex, 03 RX-1, Attak, and a 03 Rev Blair Morgan. We rode pretty darn fast and the Phazer stayed in the middle most of the day except on the big lakes. Since you are from the Winnipeg area, we rode from Rennie to Tyndall in 90 minutes. In the fields, Reaper was actually in front of us all.

You would be 2 miles behind on the trail up the lake from Gimli to Riverton, but the Phazer FX with the right rider could lead the group on the trails.

250+ pounds, on hard pack road, 91 on speed-o, 450miles on motor. I think MeSled had a lighter guy on his phazer. I put the OEM yamaha mountain skis on the phazer and in the fields it rides on top of the snow, and just goes.
