My cooling tank is empty but it's full up to the top of the neck where the cap is..the coolant is suppose to be at the bottom of the neck per the manual..do I fill the tank too the cold line anyways?

i would say yes. odds are it worked out an air bubble and sucked the tank dry when it cooled.

Might have a loose hose clamp or small tear in coolant hose in the tunnel(if you don't bop protectors)My cooling tank is empty but it's full up to the top of the neck where the cap is..the coolant is suppose to be at the bottom of the neck per the manual..do I fill the tank too the cold line anyways?
I had a sled here that had a pin hole in the coolant hose in the tunnel.

My last ride of the season two years ago, I ended up by the side of the trail drained of coolant. The dealer couldn't find any issues, and I rode it last year, adding about a quart of antifreeze for every 200 miles I rode. At the end of last season service the dealer found that ice in the tunnel had partially separated the hose. I have less than 100 miles so far this year, but I had to add almost a pint of antifreeze. I am hoping it was an air bubble and not an indication that I still have the coolant problem. After 6,500 miles, I totally love my sled, but this coolant issue is annoying; I hate riding with one eye on the temp gauge, expecting a problem. I am beginning to think that those BOP coolant hose savers might be worth their weight in gold.

Yes, fill to the cold line in the tank. Coolant should push back and forth from the reservoir to the cooling system.

How are temps with that machine? I had a terrible time with overheats until I bled the air from the cooling system. Now I run 168-172 even in crappy snow conditions. It will bump to 176 on long/fast rail grades.
