So the first one I did ...that ring with the teeth is actual made into the boot. I never got my thin screw driver under properly. So the other one it came off like it should. Here’s a comparison picture.

Anyway I have one side finished. I put a little crazy glue on to hold it in place.
Hopefully this helps fellas. I left the ball joint in ...just taped it up well to make sure it didn’t get etched from sand blasting.

If you replace ball joint, powder coat, glue etc, just buy the whole arm for $120 already coated and Oem, just saying, and the color you want and it won't look buggered.

For sure, but I do my own powder coating so doesn’t really cost anything. Also in good ole Canada Yamaha like to abuse us on parts at 250 per arm so I just saved myself 500. Also I did some searching and I’m sure a guy can get replacement boots that are better quality for under 10 bucks. If you replace ball joint, powder coat, glue etc, just buy the whole arm for $120 already coated and Oem, just saying, and the color you want and it won't look buggered.

Thanks for bringing this topic back to life, I picked up my 2017 as a new non current just this past October with 0km and already the white A-Arms were seeing rust well after 5300km's they are brutal so I want to get them coated. This will be good info.
