MN TY ride

There is a small field that I can plow. If that for some reason is not enough the public access across the lake has plenty parking.

Hey I'll be coming from the trail... Would this be the best route??? If so will you have made tracks through the areas that aren't clearly marked or rode through???

I added the routes to Johnson Lake to the map you posted. It's a river on the very north end of Bear Island Lake, called Beaver River. Follow that river, there is a short portage around some rapids then after getting back to the river go maybe a couple hundred yards, there will be a trail off to the right. I will be up there on Wednesday and I'll mark the trail. That trail will take you to the west end of Johnson Lake.

The orange route is the quickest if you are coming from Tower on the Taconite trail, take the Babbitt spur then take a left when you get to the first bridge, it's not so much a trail as it's a river that winds through a bog. The pink route is the easiest as far as riding skills go, You can either take Birch Lake to the trail into Bear Island Lake or the Babbitt spur to Bear Island Lake. The yellow trail is the fastest from Ely, it's mostly powerline. The Blue trail is from White Iron Lake and crosses One Pine Lake as well. I will be up there on Wednesday and mark the trails. I will also plow a field so there is parking if you just want to trailer to the house. Again the address is 1385 Forsman Rd. Ely, MN. My cell is 763-439-5748, if you have any questions.

I'll be up Thursday night. We are staying at a place down on Eagle Nest lake - What time you looking to get started bashing the brush on Friday? We'll just trailer over to your place on Johnson. Should only be a 20 minute drive at most.

I figure there's a few people that rent out their places on Eagles Nest, but it wouldn't happen to be Terry Mattson on Walsh Rd, Eagles Nest Lake 3, would it?

No - Its a Bruce somebody - on Walsh though - I think its on Lake 1 or 2.

I'm looking forward to seeing everybody, and even though I just blew-up the motor on my main ride, I will be using my back-up sled and we'll have a great weekend!

That doesn't sound good. What time you thinking of getting started on Friday??

Should work fine. See you then :)

I'll be there bright and early. I'll toss mine on the trailer and haul it up. That way, if need be, we will have a truck/trailer just in case plus I could do some quick repairs at my place overnight if someone pulls a Nicko

I'm bringing venison treats for Friday night/ Saturday ride...

Thanks again for setting this up Andy :D

Hey Andy - we have a plan for dining? Everyone on their own or??
