So during the off season I added Travis's MPS and followed Rockerdan's thread for Pilot 6.9s to a T.
BRP Pilot 6.9s with BRP Executive 8" 60 degree 1/2" round bar for center and 4" square 7/16" host bar for outers.
Let me first off say that the install of both went great when following their instructions so hats off to those guys for their excellent work.
First real test ride out in Rangeley, Maine this weekend. Headed out towards Boy Scout Rd. from Oquossoc and I immediately noticed an AMAZING change to my sled! The steering is effortless in comparison to stock, and very much like the steering on my power steer Apex. Those ski's handle so much better in the turns, very little hunting or darting especially in the 35mph + range that I run. I especially love these skis when maneuvering in the off trail or over piles of snow.
I realize I added both at the same time so I cannot differentiate between which accessory made the most difference. But my advice to anyone who misses the power steering and a confident carbide/ski combo "Invest in both these upgrades immediately!"
I actually purchased both items last year during the season but I didn't have a garage up north so I rode probably 1000 of my 2100 miles last year with these awesome add ons in my basement. I am enjoying this sled so much more than I did last year and I thought I loved it last year.
To answer a few questions:
-My sled is a Sidewinder STX-DX 146"
-Yes the turn radius is reduced. Never noticed in the trails except when pulling a U-turn it is very noticeable when trying to turn around. I have it in the easiest setting. I might review some of the other settings down the road.
Bravo guys. Thanks again.
My third accessory review:
4" Rigid LED light bar.
Super bright and worth all $200. Wired relay into my high beam switch (** Thank you Cannondale27 for the diagram). Mounted under front bumper. I can no longer out run my lights. High beams look like fog lights on the ground, this thing throws light the distance. Only downfall to mounting under the bumper is that it has to point up to get distance and that is not the best angle. If it was mounted higher (like on my helmet, but that would look odd) it would have a better angle.
Here's to a snowy 2019.

Doesn't a PM mean a private message? I looked but I did not see one.

MPS kit arrived and installed on my daughters Viper. Transformed the sled just like my SW! Thanks Travis. We both have pilots and MPS and it’s a dream.
Hats off Travis!
