I have and run both sm and PM tunes with the hurricane trail muffler! The biggest difference imo is throttle response/spool up. They are both awsome tunes just the PM tune has more giggle factor!! I love the sound of the muffler its quiet and has a wicked growl that adds to the excitement when hammering the throttleThere you go Josh. A chambered quiet muffler from where you have your bundle anyways.
What is the difference between 270 Stock Muffler tune & 270 Trail Muffler tune?

This was my thought, not having ever rode a SM tune. But knowing how a Perf Muffler in conjunction with the CAI, made my sled feel so snappy right after this was installed. Only makes sense that the engine can snap much quicker to RPM if it can have wide open intake and wide open outlet. Any restrictions at either end will certainly slow down the spool/response. I vividly remember having sled on stand, firing her up right after CAI/Muffler install and whacking the throttle, the engine snapped up rpms like a 2s, it was a total diff animal then prior.I have and run both sm and PM tunes with the hurricane trail muffler! So the bottom line is, if you ride tight trails corner to corner, I believe the perf muffler and tunes with CAI is what makes or breaks these sleds.
On the other hand, if you are living/riding on big wide open trails up at bigger speeds most all the time with no tight twisty corner to corner style riding, I would have no problem with SM tunes and saving some greenbacks.
