With fuel prices as low as they are right now, a huge portion of grooming budget has got to be freed up. Pay these guys 20/hr and they will be fighting for the positions. Weed out the non operators, keep the good operators.

At $45 for trail passes how many do they sell my guess is hundreds of thousands of them. So for every 100k that would be 4.5 million. Just wondering where does all that money go.

If you are a MSA member, they have a breakdown of every dollar and to each club, in their magazine once a year.

First of all hats off to running this every year and the people that run the hotel!! The trails are bad unless you go out at 6a.m.?? Does the grooming people or the local business know how much $$$$$& they are going to lose if they can't figure out this? Been to Newberry a couple of times and hands down the best. I DO NOT want to get forced to ride somewhere else. Please post anything if they come up with some kind of improvements coming.

If you go out at 6am like I do to do my testing, yes....the trails are flat, but by 2pm the trails are so bad you have to drive like a sno-x driver to get back. It's really a shame and I saw it for myself....I was there and have been there every year since 98.
This was a huge deal last year and thought this stuff was going to change this year, but see it's not. All the groomers down for some stupid reason. Sunday I drove 30 miles, all off-trail because the trail was so bad.

Why not...........they made a conscious decision not to run that Sunday due to high temps (40) and soft snow.......claim was that groomers would do more damage than good.........maybe, in the case of the Pisten Bully (red one), I could buy that but I'd have a hard time with the John Deere and it's all rubber tracks.......which, by the way, is now broke down & waiting for parts........
I swear to God Almighty the trails actually were better when Boink had them...........after the infamous meeting last year that is..........

I rode with grave digger Sunday and in the morning was great but after noon was not good at all. Heading to Newberry this weekend will see but I heard more snow for everyone so I should not compare the two. Again I can not say how much the people at the hotel are great and the group is fun to ride with. I really hope next year will have more snow and better trails.

The trails are bad and the trails were bad last year. I guess raising trail price permits did not help. Sounds like a Supervisor problem.

Huh? I could swear I paid $45, just like last year?....... I guess raising trail price permits did not help.
Ever hear the phrase "A camel was a horse designed by a committee"? Now you're getting the picture........Sounds like a Supervisor problem.

You are right on the $45. I bought 3 trail passes, anyways it still a lot of $ to me, but I like to ride.

it was better there than at home in spots for sure. i can find good stuff around here but i have to look for it.. as there is no trails in southern ontario open everyone is coming here to ride and the snow is not packing well this year here either.yes they do groom at night here but it is getting chewed up just like in muni.
