2017 SideWinder LTX-LE
I finally got a few miles on my LTX LE. My sled is set just as it was when I left the dealer which is kind of a generic but I'm not real knowledgeable on suspension tuning. I rode most of the time in spitting snow to snow squalls but only about 6" on the ground with drifts here and there. Field riding not groomed trails. My sled has the 1.6 Ice Cobra and 2016 MTX skis with semi aggressive snow trackers. This is the best handling sled I have ever ridden. It's comfortable and fits me very well. Standing is a breeze. It corners very flat. I'm 5'8 and I don't think I need knee pads which was on my list. I did have some understeer when hitting drifted ditches. The turning radius seems to 1/2 of what my Attak is. Ran most of the time on 1 on the fronts. On the last blast to the trailer I set it to 2 and had much more ski bite in a good way. I can see early morning fresh groomed on 2 and 3 will be bananas! Steering was near perfect not heavy that I am hearing from some. Essentially zero ski lift. Because I had some soft snow push on #1(front) I think I would like maybe a little more ski pressure. But also more transfer at times. I think I may need the Racewerks adjuster.

The motor - ok it's a blast but it's sneaky. It really didn't blow my mind and the sound is just odd? It kinda sounds like my BMX bike when I was 10 with playing cards in the spokes if I could pedal 80 mph. I wouldn't call it addicting like the Apex/Attak sound BUT I don't miss the Attak manners or rear exhaust and drone. Typing this out I'm thinking the sound I most notice is the track clips. I rode until dark and didn't inspect anything. I haven't reached 50 miles yet so I expect it to open up some. I did take the exhaust side panel off once to watch the water boiling in that little bowl on top of the exhaust guard. Never hot once.

It's a blast to jump. Little hits are very easy and confidence inspiring. maybe a little too much so. Lands like butter.

The nose was packed with snow all day. I was by myself so no comparison to make about performance difference.

Awesome sled so far. . .

Glad to hear it went well!

Tell me about the LEDs on the front bumper. A led strip attached, or something else?

Yes LED strip I found on Amazon. I have some more lights to install but drew the line there for now. Plus my rack on the tunnel lights up red Bumper light is wire to switch with habdguards (I got lazy and couldn't find a matching switch - didn't want 3 different switches).

nice...is it me or does it appear your handlebars are off to the right>?

Wow you really like those lED's. Now you need some curb feelers and maybe some dice to hang from the bars. LOL! Sled looks great and I love the color and graphics. That's why I bought mine, had the dealer only had blue or any other color I would have waited to buy.

Checked over the sled tonight 43 miles on clock.
Oil down to min line cold.
Coolant 1" below cold line
Fuel rail bolts both turned 1/8 - 1/4 turn
3 of 6 Nord-Lock hex head down tube bolts turned 1/4 - 1/2 turn. 3 solid.
Could not reach back turbo bolt to Nord Lock and its gone.
Gear oil looks fine.
1 of 3 secondary rollers spins freely and has side play - all 3 ramps have mark indicted contact.
2 dark black spots on primary near bottom maybe 1/4" from bottom and ~1/8" apart
Belt seems to be sitting perfect in secondary

My driveway can attest to the grip and scratch lines of the Ice Cobra. Wont be a drag racer but certainly a lot of grip for safety and moving on pavement. Jury is still out on the paddles. Not enough ride or right conditions to make any review of the MTX ski-Snowtracker-Ice Cobra combo. Easy steering for sure tho.

Actionjack, you mentioned in above post that you rode till empty on fuel. How many litres did it take from empty ?

Sorry I didnt start with a known quantity of fuel in tank so I can't offer any take on fuel economy. My gut says it wasn't as good some other have reported - I would guess I got 10ish MPG.

This LED is not holding up well. I am going to try to black silicone all around it. I have my doubts that will last so will be looking for another added front LED solution.
