My Simons CPR Attak on dyno, WOW

I am also very interested in more feedback on the CPR that was Mikes....

Mike, where did the sled go?..is it up here on Ontario?..or out east more...?

Ive been waiting 12 mts or so to hear more on Jeffs turbo...and it seems it is flawless and Jeff really worked things out.....Really want to be sure about heat issues for long trail miles and mild days...also,do NOT want to HACK up my sled...I want it as stock looking as it can be.....

Hows a 121 predator gonna handle the power?...really want to run 130s at will....does anyone make a 26 top gear?..

Stan, you gonna go 4 stroke yet bud?..gees what ya waiting for?..lol....

Jeffs setup is sounding better everyday...i think My RTX will have one for next season...getting alittle bored with 120mph..LOL.

Stan, you still running machs?....come on over to 4stroke turbo power...Im going that way for sure!...

u r correct it was bullens sled that did that sorry for the misinformation. I heard jd the knapp sled but ran out of gear but i am sure he will get it rocking soon enough

dan

there is no questioning the power of the turbo and reliability of the 4 stroke. i still have my mach and it is running very good. put the boondockers nos on it which works great and is a lot of fun. Never radared as we still have no track but not even interested that much in that as clutching would be 1 dimensional with a big hit of NOS. Small hit and it is enough to get on by most anyone.

My problem with a turbo comes down to reliability and heat. It is one thing to sit on the lake and run up and down it but to put on large miles of in the constant trail riding heat is a problem. as they get mroe developed ti gets better but have to decide what I want to do with the sled first to decide what is best. SC may be the best for trail turbo definetly on the lake.

Not sure what to do but am interested.

Another 300 miles on mine this weekend Haliburton area was at the markham mower yamafest at fort irwin marina to shoot the breeze with the boys and check out the nytro fx. All trail riding in our tight trails with my front mount turbo. No heat issues now fuel issues is another thing had to back her down to 8 psi no one in the area had 91! Thats something I couldn't do with the supercharger!

Ride on saturday was from our cottage gooderham to maynooth>bancroft>clubhouse>harcourt junction>gooderham.

Sunday our cottage goodgerham>haliburton>fort irwin>halibrton>gooderham. Sunday was running 8 psi on 87 octane fuel.

jamie i guess what it comes down to is everything you need to make it work and as I have read you too have had your experiences with heat too - melting gas tanks etc, - and needed to make changes to make it work. I just do not want to go into something like this without knowing every thing which is never what you find out in the posts about selling a product.

well boys i have over 200 miles on sled now since it is home. with no problems . inetrcooler never gets hot that u can't put hand on it . nothing melted anywhere .friday night put on 100 miles on trails to powder thing is amazing jeff from simons makes a great kit and mike knapp doing the install and set up is awesome . i was allitle on easy being a 2 stroke nitrous guy for awhile and probably wasted more time on the phone with jeff and mike than they care to mention . i use to sell my sled every year but i tell u what this sled is not leaving my garage . ok speed wise ran 130 mph on radar 146mph on dream meter geared 24/38 thats it . 130 mph on hard packed snow or ice don't matter .sled is awesome.

I'd like to see any one of these do 3 to 5 thousand miles and be able to claim no problems honestly!!!!!! 200 miles is one ride!!!!!

thanks for Info...Hoping that you can keep this thread updated as you pile up miles...many of us here have been waiting for real world HONEST feedback on Jeffs kit....I know I have been.

--can you tell me what rpms this sled runs at WOT?

--did you find the fuel economy to be way down?

--How far of a range to the smaller tank?

--could you run 87 octane if its all you can find?(even without a head shim?)

--how LOUD is the modded muffler, would it pass the cops ok?

--also wondering where abouts you are located...Id love to check this sled out of you were in Ontario.

Stan..I think next season mines getting a turbo one way or another....was really leaning toward MCX as it seems to be most reliable and coolest running of all setups....however I like Jeffs design and guarentees with heat and HP numbers...I think Id stick the head shim in it to be safe with the crap gas we might need around here at times...Keep me posted on what youre doing..

I was leaning toward SC before also,as its a slick clean install, runs cooler ...but harder to adjust Pounds, and never gonna put up the big numbers..I beleive for just trail riding SC is best...but I still want to trail ride then radar 130+ at will...and not be wrenching and tinkering 24/7.

thanks

To qoute J.D. this sled is awsome, I just wish he hadn't thrown me the key and said tell me what yah think!! I've owned several turbo sleds but not a turbo charged Attak....... this is the ticket....Nice Ride Kirb

machzed, to help you on your questions. As for RPM it will run anywhere as you know with the fourstrokes, they are not to fussy, especially a turbo with its wider than stock powerband. I run this sled at 10800-11000 just trying to keep it off the rev limiter at wfo. MPG has been around 11.5 US MPG running it rich. If you can only get 87 octane fuel where you are at you best stay with a stock sled, however if you stay out of the throttle and keep the boost down by doing so, 87 will not hurt a thing. You only need octane as you stay in the throttle and boost is up. It will not draw attention with the silencer in there. It is slightly louder than stock with the silencer. It will pick up another 4db without silencer. It is much quieter than a rear mount. Hope that helps.

i just rolled 10000kms on my apex turbo. finally got the top end speed up 200kms showing on the guess meter in 6inches of sloppy snow and temps wre plus 8 celsius. the muffler exiting the rear is what she needed. guys if i were doing another ape turbo it would have stock compression and 8-12lbs of boost max.8 at pump gas and12 with some race. response is killer with that setup. just my opinion. also dont expect to bolt on a power adder that increases its output by 50 -100 percent and not expect some matinence. not going to happen. once youve had boost its well worth the greasy hands.passing mach at 100 with skis in the air . priceless. the only thing passing a turb sled on the trail or i should say lake is another turbo

thanks guys for answers...I guess all that is left is to open up the wallet....Damn i wish this wasnt so much coin!.....

but, like you say..passing machs at 100+mph skis in the air is worth it!..

Just awesome!

My buddies all couldnt believe i spent all the money i did on a turbo unil this weekend when some of them rode it, now they are switching in a hurry.

The only thing that has me wonderring is all the turbos that are for sale. Like one guy put in his post " am I the only one not selling my turbo Apex". Makes one wonder?????????????????????

Yeh but you have to think about people thatget rid of their sled every year. I like having new sled every year thats why I sold mine.
